If they're still affordable then not really anything for us punters to worry about. Personally, I think the new alignment is looking robust and sets the company as a really serious contender in amongst the big established names, as long as B'TWIN remember to cover the vfm starter bikes that get people into road cycling and don't forget the family budget friendly kit, firming up the range for intermediates and beyond can't be a bad thing.

I don't like the colour schemes on the two new ones but I must say that they have some lovely new jerseys on the website.

In terms of components it's like the Alur 700 but I think this 540 has the new Triban frame, whereas the Alur is being rebranded as an alloy Ultra (see chas' post a few above this in the thread) since the Alur frame shares a similar geometry to the carbon Ultra frames that are alread available. Whatever this means, there's going to be a wider range of road bikes available than in recent times, with quite a few choices of components. I undertand your opinion, my concern was about the convenience to have a couple of so similar equipped and priced bikes in the range. Bigger costs for storage and logistic! Don't worry about storage costs. They won't manage to have any stock.

That's where they need to focus next I guess - they'd do well to try and get them out for spring / early summer and obviously TdF month; must miss a fair few punters if they don't.

At risk of repeating previous posts, but just to clarify The Alur is discontinued - hence the price drop which makes it similar to the 540 in price. The new Ultra af replacement has 11s and Shimano chainset and is aimed more at a sportive rider than the 540 which has the new more touring biased frame (extra mudguard clearance and rack mounts). A reminder from the first post (thanks Paulinblack)

I've had a look at some pictures of the new range and they do look good especially with the new colours. Equipment looks good too especially the Triban 540 with its Mavic Aksium wheels and Ksion tyres. They're being put through their paces by the guys at the Cyclopark in Kent and it's all looking good. The Mach's are looking really impressive even though it was wet they were well fast even cornering. The new clothing range is the business too. When we get the new bikes and clothing in store at Sheffield I will post details as we're looking at having a VIP evening for the B'Twin owners club so you guys can bet to look and get hands on with everything.

Hi to All,
Are these bikes coming soon models? I was thinking of buying the 500SE within the next few weeks, but do like the 540 specs.
Question is do I wait, and if so for how long?

Are these for sale already? Or coming soon models? I like the 540 and am wondering if it's worth waiting. May I think.

Interesting. Two very nice looking and well specced bikes there. Didn't see these on the list posted up by chas. Some great options for those who want a triple which could be good for touring, especially with the increased clearance on the new frame. Can't see any rack/guard mounts but p-clips can always come to the rescue there.

I don't get it. The Triban 580 is not as well equipped as the Alur 700, but is more expensive? It is heavier, external vs. internal routing, no-name brakes vs Shimano 105 direct mount and no pedals vs at last very cheap ones on the Alur 700.

Don't forget the Alur is currently on (very) special offer. If you look at the list price you get a different perspective.
