I don't get it. The Triban 580 is not as well equipped as the Alur 700, but is more expensive? It is heavier, external vs. internal routing, no-name brakes vs Shimano 105 direct mount and no pedals vs at last very cheap ones on the Alur 700. I guess that the Alur 700 is an "end-of-life" model: I remeber something about the new "Ultra AL", even if I cannot find on the Decathlon web site right now. More than this, my opinion is that all bike OEM will be forced to review their price-list, due to the fall of the Euro in the last weeks.

Don't forget the Alur is currently on (very) special offer. If you look at the list price you get a different perspective. The 580 also has a Shimano 105 triple crankset compared with the Alur's own brand set up.

Thinking about getting the missus the flat bar version. Good availability there from size S to XL - interestingly there are no XS and XXL frame sizes on the flat bar version.

I'll wait till they're in store so i can have a look and see what size is best. Ideally i'll get here the drop bar but don't think she'll like that so might have to be the flat bar version.

The flat bar only has a 7s freewheel, almost worth buying the drop bar and changing the bars/shifters, you could probably sell the drop bar shifters for what it would cost. Alternatively the 520 will have the new shorter top tube frame which she might find more comfortable, more expensive but better value with 9s Sora?

Roll up, roll up...First of the new Tribans up for sale on the UK Deca website: It seems the same of the "old" Triban 300: the only new thing is the painting!
