and frame with better clearance etc. right? No, that's the 520 and 540 My mistake. Guess that explains why it's available now.

I wonder if those new frames which allow racks and wider tyres will make a fast tourer with the capability of taking on canal towpaths? It seems to me that this has been a major gap in the btwin range, certainly since they stopped making the cyclocross bike.
I am still looking for a bike for my 20 mile commute, 15 of which are along towpaths. I thought I was going to have to look elsewhere, but perhaps this new range will fit the bill?
What do you all think?

What do you all think? It's probably sacrilege to say it, but I think this range could be their best yet! When the inevitable "next bike dilema" hits, these bikes have much more scope to become "winter" bikes - so they are more keepable? Larger tyres will make the bike more usable. Tow paths, cycle routes, pot holed streets will be less worrying. The larger tyres MAY be slower, but in the real world of pot holed streets, tow paths and other obstructions, I don't think they will be significantly slower! I

Roll up, roll up...First of the new Tribans up for sale on the UK Deca website: Β "An great bike for getting into road cycling ( sic). Triban aluminium frame and 24 speed microshift gearing. All new ergonomic handlebars and ERGO FIT saddle for greater comfort. Replaces the Triban 300 white from 2014 in our range." Only available in medium at the moment though... Seen it in the Belfast store a nice looking bike bar tape maybe a bit much but different. Think it will be a good seller.

Just popped down to Deca for a couple of bits and pieces. Looked at the Ultra 920 sitting there in my size looking for a new home... So nice, so light, great colour, great spec, did I say so light already... 2600E on the tag... Wonder if it will drop at all as summer goes on? (They could lose the 2 for a start !)

Anyone know when, or even if, the Ultra 700 will be available as the replacement to the Alur 700?
Was asking a member of staff in the Decathlon Glasgow at the weekend and they knew nothing of a replacement for the Alur.
Only inquiring as I'm approaching the window of when I'll order through Cyclescheme.

I persuaded a chap in the office here to buy one last week as he wanted a better bike for commuting than his old MTB. It arrived yesterday and is a VERY sleak looking bike. HE said he shaved off 5 minutes on his commute too.

Just had notification back from Decathlon that the new range of bikes to include the Triban 540 and Ultra 700 will be available in Glasgow (cannot confirm but suspect other stores as well) in June.

After supporting me over the last 2 weekends during the Wolds sportive and TDY sportive my sister went down to Decathlon Sheffield and bought a new Triban 500. She has done a couple of short rides and has really enjoyed them.

like the look, but is not the bottom priced sora bike out there. It is but I think only the smallest 2 sizes are available, but they are a very good deal at the sale price.

Bought a new BTWIN Mach 740 last week, very impressed by the performance, the Campagnolo Athena took a little time to adjust, but they are very impressive after only two rides.
I had an old BTWIN Sport 2 before which is still in use and rides very well, the Mach 740 is just as comfortable but faster in every situation. To give an example my fastest average speed on my local test hill was an average 11.71 mph, my first test ride ride on the Mach 740 was at an average 12.60mph, and my second test ride today was at 13.29mph with still more to come as I become familiar with the new bike. Can't wait to get out on my next ride now.
Surprised to see no comments about the Mach 740 on these boards yet.
Stunning looking bike also.

Just seen the new models, weirdle the new 520, with the new alloy frame seem to be heavier that the outgoing 500se (300g) with the same spec equipemtn on it!
thats progress!
EDIT : Apologies the shifters are different and it's a 9cogger..
Kind of gutted I couldn't have got the new 500 in instead of my 500se and saved myself 50quid!
