I've pulled the plug and gone for the Vortex! No point in going for the KICKR when ideally want to spend money on some new wheels and groupset for the Triban. As RobP states I have the Vortex model. It's a great trainer for the price, although I'm sure more expensive models can improve the experience a little, however with some of them at treble the price or more it would need to be really worth it for me to upgrade. As you say you've other things to spend the extra on. goffski you will need to ensure that you have the latest firmware on the unit, easily done with an Ipad and Bluetooth. Don't forget to order and Ant+ dongle for your computer or you'll be waiting a few more days to try it out. Loving your setup RobP I have monitor envy, makes my mere 12.5 inch laptop seem so small.

Cheers Red Devil - already got the Ant+ which is working fine with the Garmin Sensors, it's just the power thats way out. I'm quite liking the idea of the resistance changing on the trainer, how do you find this does it work well?

Wait until you try the hills on Zwift I think you'll like it.

Put a turbo tyre on tonight and again adjusted the setup on the turbo, getting more realistic numbers now. The smart trainer should be here tomorrow so should interesting to see how that goes.

I think I'll try to hit Zwift tonight if anyone wants to join me. Likely around 8-8:30... but depends on traffic.
