I have just seen that Halfords are currently selling this bike for £600.00! Surely no one in their right minds would buy one at this price??

When they do their sales (ie less than half price) it's e decent bike. But £600? Nope.

At £350 it's reasonable value. At £600 it's a joke, though better than the "half price" Zelos they did a week or so ago which had a pre sale price of £599. Tesco sell a better bike I think at around £130!

I really don't get Halfords pricing structure. They are also charging £600 for the new Boardman sport, which, quite frankly is not worth that either. Why on earth have Pinarello agreed for them to sell their bikes? That alone would put me off the brand.

Halfords are desperately trying to be taken seriously as a "Bike shop". However apart from buying a few loss leading or clearance items from them I find most of their prices for anything bike related (or car related!)are complete ripoffs. Especially the small things eg gear cable for £3, when you can get same quality in Wilkos for £1.20! It is worth checking them out though for their online reserve and collect items, I've picked up a couple of chains for £5 each, you won't find them cheaper than that anywhere.

I wonder what pathetic advertising campaign they've got lined up for this year's Tour De France. Remember the stunt they dreamt up last year with some plonker pretending he was doing various mountain stages on a Carrera.

TDF for 600? Joke! Even at 330 I didn't think it was that good. I looked at it before buying the T3. It felt heavier, I think it is 1kg or more heavier. It felt clunky and not as well put together as my T3. Plus it's not in go fast RED!
Just been on their website. They have a "at least 20% off" sale on bike components and accessories. Might be worth a look.

Frederick please, did you watch the 'tour we francis' movie on YouTube, I thought it was superb and only minimally promoted the bike. Give it a watch, its no bad at all

Frederick please, did you watch the 'tour we francis' movie on YouTube, I thought it was superb and only minimally promoted the bike. Give it a watch, its no bad at all Unfortunately I'm all too familiar with that 'superb' publicity stunt (sorry, movie). Not only is he an excellent cyclist, as his Madeleine and Croix de Fer ascents prove, but he can also perform miracles whilst climbing, amazingly being able to make his bike camera teleport from right fork to stem, along with mounting bracket, and even vanish into thin air. Either that or they're not being completely honest with us. But that couldn't be true - could it? Clearly Halfords and DLKW Lowe, the ad agency responsible for dreaming up the stunt, are very sensitive about these things because all of my posts from last year pointing out the above were removed.

Ahh fredscuttle, we agree on something - I'm a tolerant sort of chap most of the time but the 'Tour de Francis' was irritating to a level not often exceeded in the media these days - I watched almost every minute of the TdF on PC screen 2 last year and that joker became more irritating than the wonderful Michael Gove, tears on the ascents and wussing it on the phone etc - I'd almost forgotten about it and now the horrendous imagery has come back to haunt me like a freight train ... aaahhh!
