As the Yang to the Yin of the getting out there thread, I thought I'd post this to alleviate my injury sulk. After a week off the red mistress due to a broken buckle on my cycling shoes I couldn't wait to get some miles down today. I even had the joy of some new tyres to look forward to. Then I went and wrecked my neck yesterday while changing the rear shocks on my car. I prayed it would go over night but when the alarm went the fearful twingle of pain was still there. So my minor injury means I can't turn my head to look behind me.....meaning no ride.

It wasn't too bad until I finished it off when turning over in bed. Rule 5 came into operation though and despite not being able to turn my head around like an owl I developed a set of balls and got on with it. I'm off out with the lad when he gets in. I've just worked 6 days out of 7 so it'll be nice to get some fresh air and exercise.

Hangovers are no excuse, unless perhaps post wedding do or a major lottery win but even then it's defo Rule #5.

No Excuses! Rule no.5 is a major here on you btwin people!! I come off my bike tuesday, damaging all my bike and all my leg... got home, fixed the bike as best i could (hanger was mashed) rid over to my race and still competed in the race. I ended up actually setting myself a new PB as well as winning the handicap times (net, gross i come 5th). hangover or ill, Rule 5 and do it Note: look at my leg in my image, you'll see i did a bodge job on taping my leg up just to get out there.

Guilty of a rule 5 violation. I have plenty of excuses to throw at myself as justification at least. Makes me feel a little less of a pussy.

Guilty as charged. Haven't slung a leg over the saddle for over a week now! Hectic work schedule followed by a full weekend on the golf course. To put it mildly, too knackered! Did consider a steady evening ride tonight but after my tea and getting parked on the settee, it never materialised. I am shamed.

Rules are made to be broken. And for those of us who can't currently get out there is always the turbo trainer.

Agreed fluffkitten, if you obey all the rules you miss half the fun! However i managed 35 miles at the weekend, getting out there as often as i can.
