A RED fest. They both look stunning. Good job Rad. Although I like my PX I do tend to be drawn to my T3. Just gotta pull my finger out now and fit the 105.

Chuffed to have the choice - each has their purpose now. I've just been out on the T3 with its winter garb on, dressed in cycling hat and gilet (still in bib shorts ), flashing like a beacon in the diminishing sunlight. I should have used overshoes, if only to keep the muck off my shoes but soon it'll be time for them due to temps - it's rained here today, there's leaves falling and it's a bit fresher feeling; woody bonfires were mixing with mist forming in the low spots, dense sharp looking skies with big clumpy ominous clouds hanging over the Severn, filtering the sun as it dropped into the Welsh hills. The farmers are out ploughing, so there's wet muck thrown off tractor tyres everywhere and it suddenly feels very wintry. Appears to have been perfect timing to set up the 'winter trainer' and given it was a bit grim out, I was pleased to ride the T3 again, perfect as a workhorse over the bad months. Bit of an injustice to say that though, as now it's all been tweaked and refreshed, it's as sweet as the day it arrived - having an N+1 bike for the bad days makes sense and recycling all the old parts has a 'circle of life' vibe that appeals to my vfm efficiency bent - really pleased with it. It's not as 'on it' as the FC700 but then not every ride is going to be sunny blue sky stuff from here on in, so that one can be kept pristine for hey days and holidays. After 2 winters battling with the grime, I've got it right now, the mudguards won't come off the T3 and accepting it as being a bit less sporty is not a problem in that context - it's still pretty good in performance terms and lugging a bit of resistance can only do me good, I'll stick my data up on the usual thread in a bit so you can see how it pans.

Interesting to see the difference in geometry from the side by side photograph.

The geometry puts you into a position where you feel a bit more sprinty with the carbon, like a runner coming out the blocks. The seat angle is noticeable here, particularly if you're getting on with it but side by side, reach, bar drop etc are not that different - you feel more on it with the carbon but the differences aren't huge, if you're in cruising mode on either, then the geometry is not so noticeable. I'll do an overlay shot at some point.

...and finally: Time to dust off the bib tights, thermal under-layers and FDJ cap! What mudguards are those Rad? Fit well?

I had them last year but took them off, dodged the rain and just cleaned more ... but in hindsight, it's best they stay on, they're a Zefal or maybe SKS variant that were in clearance (I'll see if I can find them), pretty good but seriously chopped to fit. Nice and stable but I have cut the front portion off the front entirely and hacked the back at pinch points with the frame so they're not really recommended unless you're into craft working for near half a day to fit them.

Not sure it's half a day but the red cover fits the theme well...
