I agree completely, I have really enjoyed upgrading bit by bit, it fits my inquisitive mind. I would have found it difficult to save up the money to buy a bike new for say Β£600-Β£700. And then there would still be things to change.

...and here it is, all grown up now, I won't say 'complete' but there's not much left to tamper with - not the best pics, misty here today but you get the gist. Right, back to the day job - if the sun shines, maiden voyage later!

Leant gently ianmoss, it's rubber - the metal didn't touch, no harm done - out to a site on bike in 1 hr for short meeting then on for a tester! Where's this sun that's forecast - solid grey / white cloud here gudarnit!?

Just weighed bike as pictured above with Garmin, pedals and holders etc; did it on next door neighbours hanging scale (not sure how accurate they are): reads 20.25 lbs or 9.185 kilos.
