Great job Rad. Didn't take long! Do post up a pic of Old Faithful one you have the old T3 back in running order. Just for nostalgia's sake.

Nope, did the main work yesterday evening, because it's a straight transfer of parts it wasn't too tricky. There were a few challenges; the worst being needing to disassemble two sets of rear brake calipers to get a longer bolt onto the Tiagra set, to allow it to bridge through the deeper rear frame section - not a job for the faint hearted. The longest time was spent cleaning and lubing the bits for refit and waiting on parts but Ribble came through with a quick delivery of a 31.6mm Deda seat tube (and bar tape) - ordered Sunday, dispatched yesterday, arrived today. Only Β£15, and circa 180g chopped (with the clamp) - matches the stem as well.

Nice bike. Interesting that it is not much lighter than you had the T3. Is there anything remaining from the original T3 on the new build?!

I think the T3 weights were overly optimistic - given the weigh-ins I've done to date involved standing on a WiFit board with the bike in my arms, best let me confirm the weight with better scales.

Only thing remaining is the handlebars and I'll only change those for a compact lower drop if they come up cheap, as not a lot wrong with the originals really - at least not enough to sweat over. New BB may be in order first though.

...And a new ride report too (not that we can go out and buy one but hey...) You can buy the current equivalent though. Had a look at the Mach 700 in Deca just yesterday and I think it confirmed my feeling that I'm not ready for a carbon frame yet (plus it's not red!)

This bike is pretty much on a par with the Mach 700 - but now it's at the reduced price of 850 smackers, it's probably cheaper to buy that than me buying all the parts I've got on the bike to put on the FC700 frame, good job I had a load of parts already !

The smallest frame size currently available on the Mach 700 appears to be 55cm so I would have to look elsewhere apart from the fact that I could never warm to a grey or black bike.

Very nice indeed Rad. Have you weighed it? Using the 'pet' function on WiFit That, sir,is a damned fine idea.

Just in case you were wondering, that's a Mustang in the workshop, now can't get this theme out my head in association with the build, feels like a proper man's bike now ! Sounds better when watching the car chase , Honestly Rad, were do you get the time to build bikes, post lots on this forum and work all at the same time !
