Once the top ten all finish, then for me the interesting bit is at the back of the race, the laterne rouge. You have the 'peloton' of about 50 riders ranged from Bosnia to Greece, but it is easy to see the stragglers, say the last 10 who are probably missing the CP being opened, but still trying to finish (or to get as far as they can before they pull the plug and fly home). At the very back is Neil Matthews, about 500 kms behind the next to last rider. Who knows if he'll scratch at some point or whether he'll go for the record of slowest ever finisher.

I see that Bjorn Lenhard, who finished 3rd, will soon be on a plane to Bishkek for the SRMR - www.silkroadmountainrace.cc/srmr-provisional-start-list/Also a couple of names I recognise from previous years TCR, including Min Hao Hsiu who did it on a BTwin. + Gareth Baines, Ultan Coyle, Martin Cox, Mikko MÀkipÀÀ I see Colin Woollard is doing the SRMR on the same bike as mine :-)
