did you squeeze the venge? the downtube has a flex in it like you wouldnt believe, could land a plane on the width of some of them
apparently the battery packs are to be incorporated into the seat tube but atm the do look rubbish

I saw a bikeradar article today about a Lightweight (brand name) bike that does have the battery pack in the frame.

Just back from my first serious run on new T7. I've kept the pedals and I find them fine. I've been tweeking this and that and enjoyed it very much. Todays run was all about seeing what it could do. And doesn't it shift! Love the stiff feeling, especially when coming off of the top to a slight hill, then standing up and putting some power down, and whamy, the aceleration is superb and it keeps going. Yep really happy with it all. Even a knee/hip problem I'd been having was sorted (mainly by the float in the pedals/cleats) but it just adds to my overall smuggness. Thank you Btwin!

You happy with the size kenty? I know you wanted a 57 but settled for the 54? Glad you're enjoying it, it's a great bike. The wellgos lasted me 3-4 months before they started playing up. Got a strava log?

I have replaced the wellgos with the weighted ones recommended elsewhere on this site (can't recall the mfr name right now). I also replaced the saddle with a Charge Spoon. I have also changed the tyres for slightly heavier but puncture resistant Continental 4-Seasons. I'm happy with the results of these changes.
I'm vaguely considering replacing the wheels but I'm not sure I know enough to make a good quality choice.

Hi there ohoward, Yeah, spot on really. I did flip the stem because I'd had the seat up quite a bit and I was feeling a bit front heavy. The bars are marginally higher now and it all feels nice and "balanced". I'm still left wondering what a 57 would have felt like. But, as things are, I'm not cramped, my knee and hip pain has gone... on Strava I'm "Mr Gargamel" - in tribute to the Smurfs. No magic time or figures for the moment

Wellgos...I had a brown pants moment when I clipped out on one leg anticipating a "Stop" and nearly put the weight onto the wrong side of the bike. WHEN it happens, I bet the local cycling team goes past...with the sound of their monocles dropping onto the floor in mock surprise.

i think the difference between electronic and mechanical is big enough to justify wanting it i just dont think my talent or my wallet can justify getting it, if you tried it id reckon you would want it When I demoed the Focus Cayo, the only one they had available for demo in my size just happened to be the next model up with Di2. I personally didn't feel like it was worth the extra Β£600, though I only did 5 miles with it. the chain was rubbing on the cassette, my first thought was the mech hanger was bent because Di2 auto-tunes itself, but no. The sop owner told me it was because people keep playing with the gears whilst its on the stand and it knocked out the calibration, and it needed to be hooked up to the computer and re-calibrated. Hardly something you could do by the roadside. give me mechanical any day. on the subject of Tiagra vs Ultegra. The levers are an order of magnitude better, shifting on the front is less clunky and the carbon levers feel much lighter. The brakes are superior too, but general performance is just as good, comparing my 2 bikes.

I also noticed that many of the full carbon frames have that really wide downtube you pointed out on the Facet recently. The downtube on my Cayo is like a drainpipe

Went for the 54. My seat is a bit high but having a shorter body means the reach is spot on.

Yeah, seat post looks really long because the down tube on the Triban 5 and 7 are at an angle. An most new bikes I'm told. I pushed the seat too high because I was told the pedal/slight bend in leg fitting was based on a 6'o clock angle on the pedals/crank. WRONG. It should be based on the 4:30/5h angle. Then I modiifed the seat position at a 3:00 and 9:00 angle of crank. You drop a plumb line just behind your knee to the pedal shaft. (you guys probably know all this). Basically I tweeked and it meant I lowered the seat and pushed the seat forward (surprisingly), I thought for a size 54 frame I was long in the legs, but this measurement clearly showed that I had the seat back too far. Finally to get my back straight(er) and to make that 90 degree angle between my arms and back, I flipped the handlebar stem round. I didn't need a longer stem fortunately, but if you do need more reach or a better angle, there are articulated ones. And of course, I'll be looking out for a carbon one, or one made out of reinforced marshmallow or whatever they make them out of tomorrow. So basically, Ohhmmm, I am at one with my bike.
