ohoward...I should twist em up a bit then? I'll have a shoofty at the "my Triban" photos . Any just-out-of-shop tweet advice or like would be welcome. The gears weren't as spot-on as i'd have hoped. TWEEK TWEEK. Oh and new SPDs going on. And the seat is terrible Well it's up to you mate but they look very low to me. Can't see that being comfortable at all. So yes, IMO they need to be tilted up a little more. The idea is to have the bottom of the drops level with the ground, maybe pointing at the rear brake. In your pic they are almost pointing to the saddle. Another way to go about it is to make sure the transition from the bars to the hoods is level. I thought the stock saddle was alright, but this is very much a personal thing.

I want to start upgrade my groupset. I want to move up to 105. What component would be the best to start with? This will be a slow upgrade so each bit will have to work well with the current Tiagra groupset.

probably the mechs whitey, depends where you want to spend big along that journey, obv the shifters will cost a fortune, nice idea though but is the tiagra letting you down or are you just being a tart?

He's Deffo being a tart The Tiagra group is impressive. Compared to Ultegra, I'd say the shifters (mainly the front) feel more clunky, and the brakes aren't as good, but gear changes are easily as good. I never liked the routing of the gear cables out of the shifters on Tiagra, but I'm over that now.

I recently read that an upgrade from Tiagra to 105 isn't worth it as the difference isn't really noticeable enough.

Tiagra > 105 - no real difference Tiagra > Ultegra - no real difference
How much better is Dura Ace Di2 than Ultegra then I wonder?

Maybe in Richmond they "work better", come off it. I've just come off a 1980s with "shifters" on the down tube. The difference between these systems must be minute. But I'm a nobody.

I was at a high end bike shop the other week where they had a spesh venge on display with Di2 and while a beautiful bike that battery pack looks awful. I also noticed that many of the full carbon frames have that really wide downtube you pointed out on the Facet recently.
