Hi.
I'd like to hear from any Triban 7 Owners. I'm seriously considering this after having a look at my Local Decathlon recently. amazing spec for a bargain price, and pretty nice looking too.
My only concern is mudguard clearance. I suspect the only options will be the Crud RoadRacers or the SKS Raceblade Long's (the Raceblade's are better quality in spite of the lack of brake calliper protection.
What's is the comfort like on long rides? any thoughts on its use a short (3-days) tourer?
Thanks in advance

had mine for a couple of weeks now, really pleased with it, tiagra is nice actually - wasnt expecting it to be so precise, changed the wheels out straight away probably more out of snobbery than anything elese as the btwin wheels actually dont look too bad for pothole laden uk roads, the wellgo pedals got canned straight away too, for some 105 spd-sl and the bike is coming in under 9kg which aint too bad for a 600 quid bike on a longer run my only real issue was with the new compact handlebar shape, im used to the old style with a big radius drop but these, although way comfier on the drops, left my hands tingling and it was a little uncomfortable but is suppose that is more of a 'getting used to new' issue the bike was pretty comfy over edinburghs cobbles but there is only so much dialing out the road buzz - i deliberately tested on the cobbles to see what carbon was all about - other bike is full 7005 alu from 2002 so that is a boneshaker on the cobbles but the T7 was ok its got the mounts for panniers so you could tour with luggage but the front end is a tad flexy IMO so i dunno what extra weight would do for your experience mudguards? why bother, nothing better than coming home looking like youve just done paris-roubaix - why should filthy be the sole domain of mtb - lol if i were you id seriously take another look - i effectively chose it over a BMC SR01/BTWIN FC3 both at the 850 mark and i reckon i made the right decision - 200 quids worth of extra toys ))

Hi Thanks for your feedback. im pretty much thinking the same. been looking around the £900 mark, and its possible to find bikes at that price point with a lower group set than the T7a. at the T7a's price, i can keep £300 in my pocket.
I like the fact it has carbon rear stays, potentially offering a smoother ride than an aluminium-only frame.
Glad you are enjoying it. Might pop along for another look... Would love to see the T5a too. sadly they didnt have any in last time.

I love my T7 but unlike zoltansocrates I couldn't get rid of the wheels and pedals at the point of purchase. I have been catching hell with the pedals and so much want to change them. It's the clipping out that's killing me. It's so hard to do. The chaps at the store and I have been playing with them but no joy. I will change them soon. Had no issue with the wheels. Covered over just under 40 miles so far and it's been a joy ride apart from the pedals. Go get one I spent ages saving up for this so had lots of time to research the other bikes and they all fall short of the decathlon price and configuration range. Not sure if its because its my first time on a road bike, but my RockRider 8.0 is clip less too so I do have some experience. Change the pedal first.

I was looking at the cost really, didn't want to go over £50. I will consider getting the 105s at a later date. Are they lighter than the Keo Easy? The Easy hasn't any float but they work fine for me. Maybe the 105s will be an upgrade? For now it was a case of better safe than sorry. I'll have a look at arny5triban's 105 in the week if he will let me.

Yep I still have the Wellgos too. I hope to get the new wheels next month then I will have spares too. Interested in rollers too. I can't get turbo rollers need the cash for a computer upgrade that use to happen every other year but Decathlon has become the new sweetheart. Need a 2TB Hard disk and that's the better part of a £100 and I am changing out the car in two months time - I most not spend any more money on bikes! There I have said it! Hope I can stick to it! Still looking at rollers

Im there at the moment. Everytime i visit Decathlon i spend a fortune on cycling clothes. The bib tights and shorts are great. The orange Chamois fits the saddle on my Focus perfectly (Prologo Naga Evo). Trying to avoid right now as i know on my next trip ill come away with a T7a. Need to sell some camera gear first

Oh spaceflightorange I think it will be the best buy so far! I actually got a £12 discount voucher this week. I think I spent about £700 the week before so I was surprised when I got the email the very next week. How much did you get zoltansocrates?
