robert millar was my first cycling hero along with...and he'd hate to hear this but his arch enemy pedro delgado - these two were immense climbers, complete machines, i know others are better but these are the guys that got me into road bikes robbed by delgado in the 'stolen vuelta' in 1985 - a great story in itself really and an eye opener into the cut throat not so honest world of pro cycling Attachment Deleted

Thanks for the history lesson zoltansocrates lol I see you got the image inserted I tried but couldn't get the correct link. Something to do this ios6 copying the URL. There are times when apple iOS can be really rubbish! Actually I started cycling in 2011 on an MTB until just two weeks ago when I got my T7. It was health and car cost that motivated me to cycle to work. At the time I catch the Girio Italia and then the Tour of France. I idolised Cav and HTC Highroad. I so wish I had their kit. One day I will I hope. So does that make me young?

I started out somewhere in the 80's with a Raleigh Super Burner, then a Raleigh Bomber, then nothing after the Bomber was stolen, for a few years when i won a (very cheap) 'mountain' bike in a competition held in our local Game store. it was a 10-speed 'Black Russian' with mat black paint work, awful decals and no suspension. whipped the decals off and she looked sweet! then a Raleigh Max (which my dad still uses) and eventually to a GT Zaskar with Pace forks which i built myself. used that for a long time before switching to the road with a Boardman Hybrid Comp and eventually to my Focus Cayo Evo 4.0. The last bike is a bit OTT to be honest but it's the best bike i've ever ridden, with a comfort level that is indescribable. The focus isn't very practical to be honest and sometimes makes me wish i'd bought a titanium all-rounder. but that view changes after a long ride Thats the reason I'm looking at the Triban's, as a suitable all-weather bike that will do the miles and is inexpensive. I want to replace the hybrid as its too uncomfortable. Oh yeah, im currently rebuilding the Zaskar. hoping to do a bit of retro mountain biking this year!

I have to say that the shots in the Your Pics section make the T3 look a lot nicer/sleeker than the ones on the Decathlon site. Had I not previously seen one in the flesh I wouldn't be considering it because of the shots on their site (I'm a designer, my bike has to look good!).

Right.
So I've decided.
Im gonna order A T7a. I do prefer the colour scheme on the T5a but the T7a is a better match to my carbon bike (10 speed) which means i can swap wheels round easily.
What are the stock wheels like? I have a set of fulcrums on my carbon and a mach1 on a tiagra hub for the turbo. I bought a matching mach1 front to use as a set of training wheels but im thinking of exchanging for a set of RS30s to put on the T7a and then use the T7a rims as training wheels, keeping the mach1 as a turbo wheel. Ill probably switch to a 105 12-27 cassette as thats what run currently.
Any thoughts?

I can't say much since I am a noob when it comes to bikes. I still have the original wheel on. I will be changing them out. I was thinking Mavic Aksums but been wavering between them and the Fulcrum Racing 7 or 5. Just waiting for a bit more feedback to make up my mind. Since I don't have a benchmark to make comparison with theres not much to say.
I am thinking that they are doing well. I have covered 150 miles in just under 3 weeks with the Hutchinson Equinox tires at 110 psi. Been in a few pot holes and they are fine. Looking forward to keeping them as my spare wheels and training wheels too when I get the new replacement. You seem to have spent a lot of money on those wheels of your spaceflightorange.
