I have an FSA Energy on a BB30 on my Focus. Lovely chain set. If they do a Mega Exo it should be ok, but BB30 will deffo not work. BTW has anyone switching from stock to a hollowtech on the T3 had any issues? With older frames, its common to have to get the BB shell re-faced so that the hollowtech will sit flush, wondering if this would be required on the T3? I suspect not since its pretty much the same frame as the T5, but just curious The T3 shell is already faced and the external BB caps fit easily.

...............when I said 'all fairly straight forward' I mean for my LBS lol! Replacement crank, new chain and indexing gears Β£30.00 all in............which I was more than happy with. Probably could have done it at a push, but I don't have the tools, and for that money, not really worth the effort! I ask because I wrote to @bobdigi88 about this. I suggested the local bike shop route if he wasn't able to do the job through lack of tools etc. Did you just take them the cranks and BB set, and what happened regards the spacers needed? Β£30 seems a good price for the lack of ball-ache and not having to find all the tools for the job.

Mainly because I was unaware that it might be necessary and so didn't look at the possible issue.

Great local bike shop - sure not all are the same though. :-(

Heard many complaints about the FSA chainsets. Gossamer one the most.
They do not compare to the specifically designed ones for your groupset.
If You have a Shimano Sora groupset, get a bloody Shimano Sora chainset. The cogs, ramps and chainlinks are all designed to work in unison.
Mixing and matching groupset components works, but not as well as it can do.
The only reason you can buy bike with a mix of groupset components is that they have been made and designed to a rigid budget. And the Pro Wheel, FSA chainsets. Can 9 times out of 10 be bought for less that the matching ones for your groupset by the manufacturers. Or they will sometimes stick one higher end, eye catching component on, to make the bike look better than it is.
The Triban 3 is a good example of being made to a budget. Every single component is a cheap as you can get, they work together, but nowhere near as well as possible.
End.

Keep dreaming of full 10 speed tiagra upgrade probably with compact chainset. Not really necessary but....! Thought all parts quite reasonable until I got to shifters! Bloody hell never realised how expensive shifters are! Ah well back on back burner. My in laws getting me garmin 200 for birthday next month and few people funding new wheels for xmas so getting there!

Agreed and even more so with wheels. The groupset upgrade is far more luxury and much upgrade in terms of performance (may be nicer to ride). All pipe dream at moment anyway as far more things to spend cash on with wife and 2 little lads!

Yep will be straight swap but for money coild get tiagrit's chainset from wiggle and hollowtech bb as few on here have done which is probably an upgrade. Why changing stock chainset? I've had two ounce chainsets now (decathelon changed the first one) and both have had a wobble. Now It's come loose and i just want rid of it and to get a better one. People have been really helpful on here. Thanks for all your advise. And thanks for the links.

Yep, just a chainset - should say 8, 9 or 10 but if you buy all 10 compatible gizmos to complement it, then it shifts more expensive kit .

To be fair, think Wiggle explains that on their site.
