Call me a cynic but I wouldn’t bet against team Sky either deciding (or even agreeing) to take a back seat at the giro in return for an easier ride on the Frome investigation. If they dominated the Giro it would ramp up the pressure on the authorities, let alone the concept of them retrospectively taking the title off Frome. Far easier if they’re not a dominant team. Just me?! The counter to that is that he isn't doing well as he isn't using salbutomol this time.

Personally I feel he's just got to that point in life where the young lions are about to challenge for the right to rule the pride.

Froome/team sky did well today! I'm surprised that so many folks are surprised...

I'm just hoping that the Giro will not be decided by Dumoulin taking masses of time off of Yates in the TT.

If there wasn't a TT the race would be as good as over already and would have been less exciting. The TT looming has forced Yates to attack to build a lead, even going for every time bonus. Much prefer the 'big favourites' contesting the stage wins than breakaways.

Yes great stage to watch. Don't think the race is over yet either given the time Froome lost the day after Zoncolan. The foot of the Finestre is only 50km from me and I was tempted to go and see the race live but would have missed the excitement on TV. Sadly working tomorrow so won't be able to go to the stage start in Susa.
Will definitely have to ride the Finestre this ummer but think I will have to buy an 11-36 cassette before!

it was a great stage. imho it's been the finest GT in a long time. Yates in the first two weeks attacking at every opportunity, real old school. his lead being halved, and the long range attack today by froome to take the lead in the final stages. fantastic all round. I would have liked yates to have won, and get a new GT winner, but looks like not to be. he has been a real eye opener. sure his time will come.

Wow! I think I have to eat some humble pie!
That was truly inspirational!
Makes me want to go out tomorrow and smash some hills!

Woke at 6am, thought ‘Giro!’ Went and watched the delayed telecast ‘as if live’. Luckily it was from 80kms to go.
Fantastic days racing!!
