Then we shall perhaps meet on the battlefield! Was actually hoping for the opportunity to work together as a team and see how that works taking turns on front. before a final battle for finish line..... Planning on doing the Kiss Europe race @ 20:00 Thursday if you are up for it?

Planning on doing the Kiss Europe race @ 20:00 Thursday if you are up for it? Maybe - Hoping to get 'out there' tomorrow as the forecast is good. May be up for a bit of domestique duties in the evening if SWMBO lets me. Going to do a bit of Zwifting today at some point too. P.S. Still can't find out how to set up a team

robertsims r0b1et RobP joek1973 denkfaul (I think thats all who said they wanted to join a team) Instructions to set up a team: Step 1. Make a "Secret" Facebook group for communication (Do we need to do that if we have this forum?) Step 2. Set up a Discord Channel (Huh?) Step 3. Pick a kit to wear in game (Not sure how to do this!) Step 4. Fill out the team field in your Zwiftpower profile Step 5. Profit I have just put 'BROC' in my Zwiftpower profile. I don't know how to do the rest!!

Just a quick post to say well done to RobP tonight in the KISS Europe race. We both entered into the Cat C race which was a 20.4 mile race around virtual London. Just under 51 minutes later RobP ended up a very creditable 17th. I followed him home more than 30 seconds later in 26th. Only the second race I've entered, but it was good fun and a good work out. Some (with Admin privs on this forum) may consider it 'pretend cycling' but for others it provides entertainment and enjoyment. For me, it doesn't beat being out on the road, but it does get me fitter and stronger to improve my cycling - I personally don't see anything wrong in that. If anyone else is interested in joining the 'BROC' team for some of these races then please do. I'm trying to see if we can get some interest from BTwin in creating a virtual BTwin racing kit so that we can highlight the brand on ZWIF T. That way maybe we'll get more interest in people joining the forum too. If not, there is nothing lost.

SWMBO had a go on zwift (which wasn't easy... seat post at the very bottom and was still too high really). She did a whole mile, in about 8 minutes and promptly declared that "You do that in under 3 minutes? You're way to good at this".
Complement taken.
That said, she's meant to be running a half marathon tonight... "because I can", so I'm not sure it's one sided.

What would be really interesting in terms of transferability of fitness would be to give her some coaching on things like cadence, effort and pacing, relating it to her running experience, and see what she could manage on her running based fitness and some tactical know how alone. A different realm I know but I remember my wife saying she gave up A level chemistry after a week because the teacher was so poor. She's a maths teacher and I had her doing complex chemistry calculations after 5 minutes of simply outlining what the units are that are associated with chemical quantities. I reckon there's a lot to be said for looking for explicit links between technical aspects of domains in which people already have skill, and those which are new to them. You can tell I study learning for a living!

I'm sure I could go under 20 with a real go... not this coming week though as we are having a park-run fancy dress party... and I'm going to look mad - and be wearing a wig.

Did the long FTP test this morning and got big jump from 261W to 282w. Not done test in while and been training consistently (not loads but pretty constant which I find is key - about 100 miles a week, some commuting and some zwift, nothing else).
Really pleased with jump and kinda surprised myself to be honest. I like the longer version of the FTP test, much longer warm up and leg openers...found heart rate rose slowly in warm up but responded really quickly then steadied out in test...might copy the warm up process for TT races (let's face it a 10mile TT is pretty darn similar to 20min test!)

Haven't been Zwifting for a bit now - Not since RobP annihilated me in one of the KISS races I still have the Mach set up on the turbo, but the weather has been pretty good on the whole and I've spent a lot of time outside (or at spin classes). I've paid up on Zwift until the beginning of next month, so was going to leave the Mach on the turbo until then. If we get some bad weather I'll get on board, but if not I'll be outside on the T5. Come the start of next month, if the weather is set fair, I'm thinking of stopping subscription. Is that what everyone else does or do you carry on year round?
