"It was a nice evening" "turbo trainer" should be making the most of the nice weather! How was the trainer? By the time I'd put the kids to bed it was nearly 20:00 and dark. I don't have good enough lights to go out at that time of night. I've got tomorrow off work so will be out on my bike then It's the first time I've been on a turbo so it took a little while to get the hang of pacing myself and getting the right heart zone. I'm still waiting for my front wheel blocked to arrive so had to use a catalog and a brick. I also used a small step to help getting on and off the bike. Just made it easier getting my leg over . It was quieter than I thought it would be, so I don't think it will be too bad using it indoors. I only plan to use it when the weather's really bad.

Used turbo for 2nd time today and did sufferfest angels.
1st the turbo - very noisy especially if you push it but other than that very good.
Sf angels - bloody hell! That is all I have the energy to say!

Just wondering if people keep a track of their turbo trainer workouts and if so where. I was going to add them to my strava account but then thought I would rather keep that for my rides out where the climbing exceeds 0ft Wondering if I should just set up a new strava account to log those separately.

I log them on strava solely as a way of tracking miles. it's only rough as don't have speed sensor but I base it on time and my avg speed is usually around 15mph. Probably doing myself short as lots of sprints but close enough.

You can register a stationary trainer as a bike and then look at the totals for it separately from your triban.

I enjoyed it in a painful type of way. It works on telling you to go at 7 out of 10 or 9 out of 10 effort etc. Therefore think it will take a few goes to work out what the effort levels feel like if that makes sense but does give some entertainment and structure. You can clearly find loads of turbo training sessions on the internet to do but they kept you going and gave good amusement in places as well as good footage. Recommend.

Can't beat a bit of intervaltraining, i think they would go well with a heart rate monitor to keep tabs on things. Good for FTP and all that jazz.
