Since I'm the only one that has recently joinned this forum I take you're referring to me Zoltan. Bit paranoid? ... ... Well, that's not such a bad trait on the net. I wish you were right, but not speaking french that seems a bit unprobable. And, for if I have not made me perfectly clear, my advice for anyone looking for a Satcount GPS is: DO NOT BUY IT How's that for a sales pitch? ... Aaw no need to be so touchy, if you look at my posts and trouble with youl know it was a kind of in joke, see here at TOC her in straight away I'm sure I got a dodgy one and at he end of the day firmware update will improve it but its no use out of the box ATM Anyway welcome to the forum It seems you got yourself in a bind there zoltansocrates? ah trust you to get into trouble, but you were in trouble from the moment you got the Sat Count. So did you get a refund?

So did you get a refund? in a bind? a spot of trouble? i think the new chap took it in the spirit intended and we agreed with one thing - dont buy it. i had an email from geonaute today saying they have passed my remarks on to the product manager - big deal, i will never buy another geonaute product - even decathlon sales reps pan them anyway whitey, of all people on here, how come you AINT getting a TOC top? or have i just missed seeing you on the list?

Don't worry, I'm a big boy, I can take it ... Thing is, the more I study the Satcount hardware the more I like it ... but its software reeeeeally sucks. So, for me the obvious solution would be to let me tinker with it. I think I could improve it quite a bit. Right now I'm valiantly resisting the urge to open my unit and have a look at its guts ... don't know how long I'll be able to fence myself off ... Anyone interested in translating the .GER/.GEP files to .KML/.GPX and/or back?

What format is the .GER/.GEP files? Are these what the Btwin device uses? If I remember correctly, GPX is nothing more than XML document. Might be *fun* giving it a go but I'm already behind on another project!

Does GPX Babel convert those? It translates most formats, might be worth a try? www.gpsbabel.org/

Decathlon prices do have a habit of changing from one minute to the next I'll have to check tomorrow.

Have I already said that this "thing" software is pure s**t?
I'm frustrated.
Today I used it again, and this time it did not even RECORD anything. Nothing at all. For God's sake.
I did two sessions, and not one of them is on its memory. Nothing, none, zero.
So I don't even have a file to work with.
Later, at home, after realizing I had lost my data, I started the Onconnect software, something I have not done in weeks given that it ruins your settings, but I wanted to see if they had an update on its firmware.
And the answer is NO, no update. Nothing.
I'm patient but this is taking them too long.
What's up with them? They've had notice of the many things that go wrong with their machine from day one, and in five weeks have not had time to fix anything? Not even ONE bug?
I'm not the best programmer on the world, but I'm quite sure I can do better.
Please liberate the software, and we geeks will do the rest.
P.S. Do any of you have the Btwin speed/cadence ANT+ sensor? Does it give you impossible readings once in a while? I mean, like 240 rpm readings or speeds above 120 km/h.
