Just to be clear, the Satcount and Satcount+ GPS devices don't have map displays on them, sorry if that was the impression I gave. They just indicate as you're approaching a turn on your pre-programmed (or previously ridden) route what to do. If anyone's interested, here's a link to the manual. Section 3.2.1 and others refer to selecting a downloaded route to navigate, which I assume is the one you construct in MyGeonaute. The Garmin 800s and others do of course have maps, which is why they cost almost as much as my T3! Clear as mud? Good!

T3 = £300 (not including performance add-ons like wheels, cassette, etc) Garmin Edge 800 = circa £270 (not including performance add-ons like sensors). What are you looking to pay for your Garmin, Whitey? Have added about £100 of extras to my bike but with depreciation I don't think any of that would be reflected in the resale value, not that I'm selling.

Lols. Just had a quick look at the 510.
The key difference seem to be the Garmin's colour touchscreen, which is quite a big difference and will hopefully make it nice and simple to use on the road!
I didn't notice too much difference in terms of actual functionality to the Satcount+. The SC+ has a barometric altimeter for super accurate climb data, couldn't see that listed on the Garmin 510.
I think the Garmin user interface and device look good, but I have a sneaky admiration for the rugged looks of the SC+!

The Topeak iPhone 5 holder and case I have looks minimal, being a gadget freak you'd love the clean lines, I reckon. Reviewed it in reviews section if you havent seen it. I just bought the accompanying Topeak battery extender, it gives 3 extra charges worth of juice apparently. Mounts to stem and weighs 140g, I think, so not too bad for a battery pack.

I was just joking too but yes you are right the bike console is bomb proof but ugly. I do love the Topeak solution hence it's on the to do list along with the battery pack if necessary. I will be checking out your review.

Actually yes it is a Sharp, but how does it "lack substance"? Those are most of the features I am looking for and the social stuff is just great particularly the group share stuff.

Looked again, it is a brilliant ad, for the social aspect it is immense. Giving someone a nudge on their phone to say 'I'm getting out there' is genius. I'm warming to it, Whitey! What price are we looking at at the moment? I'll add cadence and HRM so if there's a bundle/pack, I could be tempted!

BTW when I said lacks substance, I meant not too many screenshots etc of the actual product...
