Just keeping my own records up to date! New Bontrager saddle: An odd departure for a few weeks with the 90mm stem off my lad's bike, which needed the bars tipped up a bit to avoid banging knees on bar ends when standing; just 1 ride with a nose down saddle and this bar position finally got the boot - subtle changes that were just simply wrong and in hind sight it looks it as well: Saddle angle back where it should be and longer stem back on (current setup) - looks right to me now and feels better, may change angle of hoods off the bar bend next retape, aiming for flatter line where the hands go:

The bike's looking good Rad but you haven't lined the wheels up or maybe you have?

Wheel graphics kept outside frame geometry, via valves at 10.30 and 1.30 (admittedly not done too precisely though) !

Having a rethink at the mo', will likely leave it for the winter and just train consistently - aim to get under 14 stone. Then perhaps go 10 speed standard in the spring and upgrade bar and stem in weight weenie way. Then supplementary seat post, clamp etc. finally brakes (don't use them much ) - then there's only one major item left to do!

I'm wondering if you keep going and get round everything else then migrate it across.
Just a thought, or I may stick at 9 speed SORA as optimum level for the frame, supplement with a 'Sunday best' new addition and keep this as a hack bike.

hardly in keeping with the site though, using your trusted loved triban as a hack? lol, see where you are going rad, been looking at decathlons latest bargain, fc3 frame reduced to 400, summer - carbon, winter - alucarbon, makes sense and the gruppo can be switched across its lifespan isnt affected because the other option is triban only and get better wheelage

That was always going to be the problem with a one make/model club. Many of us have upgraded to the point where it is no longer cost effective or sensible to take it any further. Personally I am at an age where I am not going to be involved in any really serious riding but I love bikes and improving the T3 has become a real hobby. I have become very attached to it but need another challenge now. We will all move on eventually (in bike terms that is as well as mortality) but it would be a shame if the TOC withered on the vine so to speak.
I wondered if anyone has thought about a way forward. Maybe allowing honourary membership to previous owners would be a way? Perhaps it doesn't matter anyway. Although some of us have met, there is no proof that the many of the members have bikes at all so perhaps we could just pretend we are Triban owners. Not a lot of point in that though. Any thoughts?

Can be the 'I started on a Triban but now also ride a XXX' membership ... or we could ask Decathlon to make Tribanella special frames ?

I agree with that phred some of us joined here in january and have a few thousand miles cycling behind us and have up graded our beloved T3 and want to move on to other bikes as I will do in 12 months times and like rads will use my T3 as a winter bike, I would never sell the T3 as its the bike that got me fit after 20+ years of smoking and really enjoy riding it. great fun and love it!! not sure what I will get yet that's a long way off but im sure we wont all be buying the same make bikes. im looking forward to enjoying another summer on my T3 next year

Bloody hell, cheer up you miserable old goats!!!
The last few posts were beginning to sound like the last hurrah spelling the death nell of the TOC. Granted, quite a few may well move onto different bikes, it's a progressive sport after all. I'd like to think that where older serving members do eventually move on, there will be new Triban owners making tentative first steps on the road to cycling and improving their general fitness.
Having recently spent a few quid on a brand new Trek MTB I imagine I will be an original T3 rider for quite some time yet. The Mrs is very understanding when it comes to my cycling but I think she'd draw the line on spending megabucks on a new roadie in the near future!

N+1 is entirely possible and we have a few of those already on here (and we have done from the start). I challenge @decathlon660 to think about how to take it to the next level with next year's offerings! How do you keep a Tribanista if they're looking at an upgrade bike or path to upgrade parts? ... they're the experts after all !

They probably wont be as passionate and less (if at all) committed to an upgrade/enhancement path, but may well google the forum whilst seeking help with their bikes !
