I don't post often, but probably should do more. Had my red Triban 3 for 2 years and see no reason to change it. In early september it carried me from Edinburgh to London with no breakdowns or drama's and helped me raise nearly Β£1300 for a charity very close to my heart (Dementia UK) so I owe It a lot. Already booked a campsite in the Loire next July with the idea of watching the TDF depart Saumur and visit lots of Vinyards (yes I do have a rack and panniers). As far as I'm concerned, will keep the bike and check on the forum until I can't ride anymore

I've just bought a Croix de Fer.
Sadly, lack of space in the shed means the Triban 3 is being sold. It's been a cracking bike and I've no regrets about having bought it.
Learned loads on this forum and I'll still be reading regularly and posting from time to time.

Love my Red T3, get such a buzz when I'm riding it, only been on my Marin once since I've had it so it certainly won't be going anywhere! The forum is great too, learnt so many things and given me enough confidence to tackle any repair / maintenance, even got me having a go at my motorbike now!!

As of last night I am B'Twinless
Might invest in a cheap B'Twin hardtail for commuting though to redress the balance

Still have mine - fighting off the temptation to go for a disc frame with plenty of clearance for mudguards and internal routing for Di2.
Currently those temptations are fought thus:
Discs: Ride slower in the wet Mudguards: SKS Raceblade on rear, toe covers for front or winter boots Internal Routing: Gaffa tape FTW, and I'll probably go SRAM Wireless when it comes down in price (much neater option for a frame with external routing). Or I'll go SRAM X1 and ditch the front mech
Only slight concern is that the fork has taken a couple of hard hits recently, and it isn't really cost-effective to replace it when I can get a frameset for much the same price
But then the frameset wouldn't have the T3 redness and graphics...

Paint it red & get some stickers made

Bought my first B,Twin last year as I fancied trying out road cycling having thought about it for a while as a pastime to occupy me when I retired, must say the plan is working well. The bike is a Triban 500, would have got a T3 but there wasn't any left in my size and while the red is pretty good looking the dark colour grows on you. Since I got it I've made a few friends and cycled out regularly with 2 different groups on a Sunday but now am able to go out for group rides on Tuesdays and Thursdays as well, so its getting well used and I expect my mileage to increase dramatically next year. I was thinking of upgrading to an Ultra or Mach but early retirement means I'll have to wait a while and to be honest I don't think there's any real need as this bike is doing all I ask and the friends I ride with all think its a good bit of kit so maybe I just update it as things wear out. I am noticing that the B,Twin brand is getting more popular with the more mature rider as a few people I know have jackets, saddlebags, tyre levers etc and I reccomend them to all and look forward the new bikes next year, hopefully by the time I need a new bike they will go back to the red frame as I still look at second hand T3s and the temptation to buy one is still there. The forum has and still is a source of much information and hopefully will remain so for many years, so many thanks to the administrators for doing an excellent job in what is a increasingly cycinal and selfish world.
