Don't think I'll ever sell my T3 unless I absolutely have to. I get pretty attached to things like that, I won't sell my mountain bike even though I don't plan on ever using it again, and it's a pile of junk really. I do plan on getting a better bike at some point, possibly a B'Twin depending on the options at the time, but the T3 will stay and I plan to stay on this forum too

I was debating to go for boardman from halfords or a Triban 500...it was the very fact that Triban even had a owner club the tipped the balance for me...(and halfords being halfords...) I have another few 1000 km/miles to go before I can even think of leaving

Started riding a couple of months ago, bought a 500se, only change so far a shorter stem. Absolutely love it, have found this forum so useful and really enjoy looking at others rides on strava, (when I learn how to put the rides on I will start to put some of mine on). As ketoWarrior stated I feel I have lots of miles to cover before I can think of leaving.

Signed up about a year and a half ago and check in most days just to see what the craic is. My goto threads would be the "what have you bought now?" "bargain alerts" and its also nice to check other peoples strava just to see how i compare. My Triban 5a has done everything i have asked of it and i don't think i'll be changing anytime soon. If i ever do i think B'TWIN's latest evolution will be my steed of choice as i am not into getting ripped off by so called "big name" brands. Delighted i discovered my Triban and TOC/BROC for that matter. Not going anywhere ant time soon.

Paulinblack I'll take that comparison as a compliment - Kittel with a fair few more squidgy lumpy bits of course Regarding the forum I'd say it is just a natural progression - Some people move on for whatever reason and new people join - You need new blood so to speak to keep it fresh. I'd say the whole emphasis of the forum has changed anyway - At the start it was mainly about the majority new to cycling and all the start up tips - This far down the line pretty much all of the questions that can be asked have been (and answered) so it's more of a social thing with a set group of people and then new people tagging on. The forum for me was a way in - especially as a complete newbie to cycling with no idea of anything to do with bikes - Then it was useful for added motivation when out riding on my tod - especially through the dark nights of last winter. The threads of how/what to upgrade to regarding group sets have been invaluable along with the maintenance bits & bobs and the other more important cycling tips (my fave must be the Rocket cycling rice pudding avoidance plan Been lucky enough that I now have a large network of local cyclists to ride out with (a collective which basically started out from scratch earlier this year) but still enjoy following the stuff on here especially the who's getting out there thread - I basically started writing up and posting pics of my own excursions as I enjoyed reading and seeing other peoples offerings. All hail the master tourer @davefy7 I'm currently at the point of looking at upgrading to a new bike - There's nothing wrong with my T3 and I've become rather attached to it -quite literally after all those hours in the saddle and I will be keeping it whatever happens but it's just a natural progression - I've never had anything to compare my T3 with as far as comfort/speed/whatever else goes so I am kind of interested to have that comparison in all honesty. I'm not expecting that a new bike will suddenly make those hills easy or it will make me a better cyclist in any way but you can't take your money with you so may as well enjoy it while you can and spend it on what you enjoy which in my case is cycling. If I do press the button on the upgrade I'll still look to post in here - As has been said already it was the T3 and this forum that opened up the door into cycling for me so by continuing to add to it hopefully other people will benefit like I did.

I'll never sell my T3 I've owned it for over two years now. It' was a life changer for me, we've lost 5 stone together and I completed my first 100k sportive with her even if I couldn't ride anymore it would be mounted on a wall as a reminder to me that "you can do it".
I have been looking to upgrade though, just through natural progression I suppose. I liked the t500, great value just like the t3 it's just that odd finish I can't get my head round.
So yes I might not post that much but I look in every day and will be here for a while!

As a beginner I just can say this one goes like a plane. I dont think I will need more than this. But it is good to learn someone needs to pass over it.

I stick around on here because it is a pleasant place to be. No bitching, point scoring or nastiness like some online forums. People are keen to help each other out and share their knowledge. The social side to the site is also great to see with members drawing inspiration, motivation and encouragement from each other to get out and ride regularly. My Triban 3 evolved into a Triban 500 courtesy of B'Twin's frame guarantee with a combined total mileage of about 13,000 miles. It's a brilliant bike for the money and also makes for a perfect lightweight tourer. I bought a carbon road bike a while ago and it is superb for acceleration and climbing. I really enjoy riding it but at the same time I think nothing less about my Triban. I can quite happily grab one or the other to take out for a spin. During winter it will always be the Triban. It's such a good rock steady bike and will be in my stable of bikes for a very long time. So I'll be sticking around as it is a good place to spend some time. Long may it continue.

I'm sticking with my red T3 for a good while yet. The plan is still to fit full 105 in the new year and to run it for at least another full season. When it's time to change, because I'll already have the full 105 I'll probably buy a frame. Perhaps something from Planet X for a few hundred quid then transfer the parts.
Part of me likes the idea of staying with Decca and working through their range because the T3 has been so good, but my experiences with Decca themselves haven't been overly impressive. Plus, when the time comes they'll probably have no stock of whichever model in their line up that I'd fancy buying.

Interesting thread. I must admit that since I got my Cube in late August, I haven't been on my T5a and haven't been on here all that often either. My son has offered to take the T5a off my hands, so it'll stay in the family. I still plan to dip in and out of here on occasion and chip in my tuppence worth, if that's ok?

I've had my red T3 since August 2012 and been a member on here since February 2013. I don't post very often but I'm always looking on the forum to catch up on the latest gossip. When I bought my T3 I knew nothing about cycling, then I found this forum and it has proven to be the most helpfull insight I could possibly have had into everything I needed to know. Everyone is always so helpful, if your asking for advice. No-one judges you if you ask a stupid question. Defiantly still the friendliest forum on the web. My T3 will be around for a long while, I love riding it. And I will keep visiting the forum on a regular basis Zeb

The T3 and this forum really got me in to cycling about 18 months ago. I have got a lot of information, encouragement and entertainment from the forum. My riding has seen me go from a tentative few short rides to a London-Paris trip last year and this Summer I cycled up Mont Ventoux. There have been many other trips along the way.
I want to stay here, but I can see my relationship with BTWIN/Decca coming to an end. First of all I want a Cyclocross for the commute to work, so I can feel more comfortable over pot holes and I can hack across a bridleway and save a couple of miles. Decca never have their Cross bike in stock to look at.
Secondly, I would like to upgrade to a carbon frame with a better group set, but there is nothing suitable in the BTWIN range for me. I am probably like the majority of UK cyclists that would like a lightweight, relaxed/sportive geometry road bike and Decca don't do one. Also, I am not keen on the black colour way. I would have thought the best way to upgrade a loyal customer base would be to add something like a full Carbon Alur and try and get it to the 8kg at a tad under £1000. I think they would sell a ton and a good number of us would queueing to have a look. What does everyone else think? Should we be asking them to add something like this to their line up?
