Driver-airframes, for a large british airline. Before that, same job in the RAF. Been doing it since I was 18 and only 12 years to go to retirement . Already part time after realising that quality of life and time with the family is my personal priority. Think the same company might be paying both our mortgages. Although I'm in the Trolly Dolly section Zeb

Fire service for me, have been in the job for just over 14 years now. Enjoy the job, loads of variety and can be pretty rewarding. Just shocking what's being done to all of the emergency services by the government! They done care about the public in the slightest just about lining there own pockets! End of slight rant!

I run a recruitment company specialising in graphic design and advertising positions. Been in this sector since 1997, but five years ago, after being made redundant, I decided to go it alone. Worked out of a spare bedroom for two years and then, following our second kid arriving, built an office in the garden - which is where I'm typing this right now. The company's done better year on year and so can now enjoy some fruits of the labour - such as cycling accessories...

I work for a large car transmission company. Some of you will have parts I have designed. Previously worked in car manufacturing plants, Dagenham and Sunderland.

Started my own company as an instructor, delivering forklift training, manual handling awareness, fire awareness and health and safety awareness, been doing it for about a year after being made redundant after 27 years.

I work at a precision engineering company as a skilled grinder on all types of machines cylindrical, centerless, surface grinders along with twin faced lapping and bore honing. The work used to be interesting but CNCs have taken over and now its all button pushing and repetition. After over 40 years in the 1 job I have ended up as an operater after redundancies in 2008/9 when the business floundered, after a lot of soul searching and frustration I am planning to retire early in April.

I'm a software developer, which I've been doing for the last 14 years since graduating, the last 7 of which I've been self-employed, contracting to various companies on their eCommerce platforms, no doubt some of you have purchased something from one of the big high-street clothing companies websites which I've had a hand in! ;-)

I served an apprenticeship as a toolmaker, it's a crying shame the way CNC has taken over.

Currently in a unpaid 8:30-15:30 job aka secondary school (year 11) . Shouldn't really be on my phone, but I'm in a French, which I've finished now. I'm looking forward to my loooong summer break. 11 weeks to go cycling, including 1 planned trip, which is going touring to Cornwall

I was there two years back, rode most mornings for the full week, some great rides but never realised quite how up and down the coast is.
