Mine is a 110mm on a 54 so unlikely to be 90mm on a 57. My lad's T3a came with a 90mm on a 45.

Hi Thank you for your advises, sorry for cross posting. I don't know what is the stock stem size on size 57. I think the staff member told its a 90. Take the bars off the stem - the stem size is stamped inside the bar clamp area. I would expect a 110 on a 57 I will do that as soon as reach home and update here

PS I could probably push my inside leg dim to 33 with an accompanying high note ! The hills are alive - with the sound of short cyclists on large frames !!!!! Hahaha

Great thread. I am 6ft and 32 inside leg and went with the 60 T3, but did fit a shorter (90) stem. As I have lost weight and now spend more time down on the drops I am feeling I should have the original longer stem back on.

Hi,
in the next few days i'm going to buy Triban 5a, this will be my first road bike. The problem is that the nearset Decathlon is far away from my home so i can't just go there to choose the right size.
I'm 184/5 cm (6ft 1" ) and 87cm inside leg (34").
Which frame would be the best for me? 57 or 60cm?

Hi I'm a newbie to road bike cycling and like most I have converted from a mountain bike which I used as a road bike cycling 20 to 30 mile rides. I have just bought a triban 5a size 60 but didn't really know many metrics to go on when it came to sizing the handle bars. When I am on the drops the front wheel hub is below the handle bars. I am 6 foot 2 inches with 33 inch inside leg. I have only ridden the bike in the shop and found I need to raise the seat further still when setting it up at home. That said, I feel the bars are a lot lower than the saddle. When I move to the drops my knees can touch my elbows. Is this right? Am I just not used to a road bike? Should I have bought the 63 size? The seat tube length is 53.5cm. When I was looking at giant bikes I was looking at a large which I think was 55cm seat post length. I'm looking for fine tuning tips so I can get out those 40 to 50 mile rides without breaking my back. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Radchenister,
Great Response, thanks for that. I never realised there was that much to it. That will keep me busy for a while. Sounds like the 60 will be perfect.
I will let you know how I get on!

Sizing of Triban1. What is your overall height? 2. What is your inside leg length? (If unsure, use your trouser length size as that will give the next closest size indicator) I've used the online calculator and found my size to be 54. Also tried out a T5 in size 54 and it's right for me. So no need to answer this questionType of Triban1. What is your budget your willing to spend? £6002. What is your accessories budget and was that part of your original budget? £150 (Total budget £750. Split between bike and accessories is not fixed)3. What equipment, safety and accessories do you already own? Helmet, Portable Pump, Gloves, Cycling apparel4. how far/long are you planning to ride? 30 Kms per day to start and then gradually increase.5. are you planning on using it for competitions, a fitness trainer or a commuter? Fitness & Pleasure. May participate in Brevets6. If competitions, how many are you planning on competing in annually? 1-2ResultsOnce you've answered all questions, i will try and answer as soon as possible giving you your best recommendation for bike size and bike type. I'll always recommend a few other alternatives and accessories to go for to help you in anyway possible.

Hi,
Late to this chain but would really appreciate some help.
I'm 5'8 with 29-30inch inside leg. Would a Triban 5 size 54 suit? A lot of reviews seem to suggest smaller riders finding them 'perfect'. I'm not going to be able to try in-store as they're now so low stock I'd have to order online. I can buy and return of course but would welcome any opinions. I'm set on a Triban 5 it's just size I'm not sure about.
Thanks, Simon

Simon I to am 5'8 and have a 29" inside leg and I have a 54 cm T3. I have found it to be just right for me however I did change the stem from the standard 110 mm to a 90 mm one I do however ride mainly on the hoods.

Depending on upper body size and reach, you might have to adjust stem length and saddle position. Hope that helps
