New Specialized FACT Carbon forks fittedArrived today, bargain, brand new from Ebay, Best offer of Β£45 accepted.
Came with 242mm alloy steerer so I had to be carful cutting it down to 220mm (still allows plenty of tube to have spacers and stem),
that was the only slightly difficult bit, then knocking out the star nut from the old bit and tapping it into the end of the open end.
Look pretty sweet black white and red.
This has ben discussed recently on other boards, clearance between tyre and fork. While I had the chance here is a shot for these forks.
Looks like 9-10mm with a 23mm tyre (not much room) I don't run mudguards so I'm OK.
And for those conscious about weight...
We have:
T3A steel fork 220mm steerer (54cm bike) at 1,100g
Carbon fork with 220mm alloy steerer at 560g
I make that a 540g saving (a biddon of drink worth!)
Hi ianmoss can you tell me where i can buy the same fork? Where do you find it? please i'm trying to avoid the shimmy problems!
