Just realised I haven't posted my progression pics... Here we are, a slow and steady upgrade path when budget permits! Day one straight from Decathlon. And now, Christmas 2013. Upgrades / changes now inclued Clarkes Brake Pads Deda Quattro 2 Stem (90mm, from 100mm, flipped to give a little more height) Shimano R540 SPD-SL pedals Charge Spoon Saddle Schwalbe Lugano Tyres Shimano R600 Compact 50/34 chainset White Bar Tape to match Saddle I've got a feeling I need to get the forks white, either new carbon ones or strip and re powder coated. Wheels next though I think, (my Birthday in spring).

I'll post tomorrow, weather should be glorious. Much to get used to, new saddle, better good position and new chainset / gear ratios.

Clamp is indeed ugly, stem spacers on next visit to PL-X, forgot to measure them before last time I was there. Where did you get your carbon ones from?

Nice bike. The difference in clearance under the forks and brake callipers to the red T3 is rather noticeable. Wouldn't mind replacing my callipers with a pair of those.

Either Planet X or Ribble, can't recall precisely, lumped in with another order (perhaps it was Ribble to get over the post charges)!?
The clamp is an odd size but an extra 5mm should fit, I under-ordered so now have an old one on top, which looks fine as matches stem and cap.

I'll measure them today (nothing else to do with this s***y weather) see what combinations I can do. Would like to get a 3mm on top. The deda is a little taller at the clamp than the original B'Twin so I would prefer it all way round the stearer tube.

I'll measure the clearance of that at the same time. It may be that the forks themselves have more clearance than the carbon ones on the red (longer) rather than the caliper deigned differently, I'll have a looksee.

Using the high-tech method of sticking my index finger in the gap, I can report that the gap is significantly less on the T3 when compared to the T3a (and that's comparing a 54 to a 45).

If you can't get a spacer the exact size of the clamp replace it with one slightly bigger, not slightly smaller. To small and you won't be able to tighten the headset sufficiently.
