Just fitted my new hoops. Bike looking peng.
Took it over to see a mate who works in halfords and we had it up on the scales.
Before: 10.4kg
After: 9.78kg
BEAST.
PS this taught me never to trust manufacturers stated weights.

How much after replacing handlebars and seat post? Seatpost is up next, that'll be about 100g saved. No plans for handlebars yet. At 69kg and lean I have to make the savings somewhere!

Means absolutely nothing, comes down to fitness i'm afraid. I cycle occasionally with a guy with an S-Works (It weighs about as much as an empty crisp packet) He struggles to keep up with me and my Triban (and that's not showing off) As they say, it's not (always) about the bike.
But hey, if he asked, I'd probably agree a straight swap. ;-)

Yeah I've just been reading that ZS. Quite the soap. Don't think he liked the fact that no one was keen on his bike.

Yeah I've just been reading that ZS. Quite the soap. Don't think he liked the fact that no one was keen on his bike. yeh, calling the bike garbage is one thing (why get one then) but what i found offensive is that the opinions and advice on here is apparently BS There are a lot of knowledgeable people on here, alot of good cyclists, some utter machine men, it is a bit trite that the chap would diss so many especially when he is trying to sell a bike to them, mystifying - i though people came on here for a bit of bike talk and a laugh but i suppose it is the net and the bigger this site becomes the more likely we are to attract a troll or two, bit of a shame back to reality though, cmon howie lets see those piccies!!!!

ohoward, bit extreme saying weight means nothing at all, obviously it does help, and certainly at pro level. It's just that a lot of people (not necessarily you ;-) think that shaving a few lbs off will turn them into Contador, where in actual fact, the few lbs off their body weight would be more productive!
That said, I reckon the quality of those wheels over stock will make a greater difference than the saving in weight. Bet they look great too!
