How much after replacing handlebars and seat post? Seatpost is up next, that'll be about 100g saved. No plans for handlebars yet. At 69kg and lean I have to make the savings somewhere! Best, cheapest, most rewarding and beneficial weight saving has to come from the rider. Think how much it would cost for a 1kg saving on a top bike to go from 7 to 6kg. Thousands. Think how much you'd save not eating the pies to loose a few kg lol. For you, at the same height as me near enough, 69 is a well done sir!

I could start eating into my lean body mass I suppose but not really going after the pro-cyclist skeletor look, I'm already at 10% bf and not sure I want to go much lower.

Admirable size and weight combo, Ohoward. I can guarantee more than a few are envious.
For the rest of us, every LB or KG lowered from your bodyweight is also a lowering of the centre of gravity of you and machine. If we're carrying extra KG as passengers, then they're creating a higher centre of gravity and thus balance, and none of those KGs contribute to the effort of powering the bike forward.
Time for H.I.I.T. to shift the 'passengers'. search for High Intensity Interval Training for fat loss in your chosen search engine.

I agree fitness is king but don't agree it means nothing at all. Why else were they weighing everyones bikes at the Tour? according to bike radar they were checking for mechanical pedal assistance?!?!? I heard there were some questions about Quintanas bike, but that it was the weight?

Why else were they weighing everyones bikes at the Tour? according to bike radar they were checking for mechanical pedal assistance?!?!? They were checking both for weight (things got very silly with some hyper expensive, ultralight but dangerous frames a few years back so they limited everyone to 6.8kg - but this being pro sport someone'll be breaking the rules looking for some sort of advantage) and also for seat tube electric motors of the kind it was rumoured Cancellara was using a few seasons back. The rumour was false but there is at least a proof of concept motor out there.
