Did the Shimano crankset fit straight on or did you have to change the bottom bracket? Straight fit. Only thing I had to adjust was the front derailleur, as the Shimano crankset seems to have a slightly narrower chain line, which fits better to the whole system. Now I'm requiring less trim shifting to use all gears.

I get a ridiculous amount of rubbing on my Alur, especially on the big ring! In fact it's actually not straight...and runs a bit like a buckled wheel.
I might take a trip down to Decathlon and have them have a look at it.

Now I've got the gears set up and indexed, the Pro Wheel crank seems ok to my untrained body - and certainly OK enough to use until worn, but nice to know the 105 crank is a straight swap out for when the time comes. arranj - sounds like a trip to Decathlon for sure. I had horrendous chain rub, but this was down to the angle of the Front Derailleur (and the limit screws not being set right) But if the crank is wobbly - I'd definitely get it looked at.

Yeah, I've emailed them to say that I want it looked at and to arrange for me to get it all done under my "free" service. However judging by the state my last bike came out the last service (with a nice big scratch), I didn't particularly want to use the service.
So will wait and see what they say.
I wouldn't say wobbly, as in loose, just clearly not "true".
I'm not getting rubbing on the front, I am however getting rubbing and a vibrating chain at the back. I think it's to do with limit screws, however I'm no expert.
I might get it up on the stand tonight and see if I can make any improvements to it!

Trust me, I am the WORST person for anything technical and I managed to get mine working a treat with an hour or so's tinkering with referencing the user guides from the shimano website and youtube videos. I highly recommend the GCN videos for setting up the front derailleur and the one for the RD and gear indexing. Helped no end and made stuff easy to understand. Take your time, and the results will be worth it.

On Cancellara's Trek at times, I've been watching also - just that little bit too pricey.

I rather fancy those tyres too. I intend replacing my 23s with 25s before the Maracycle so might go with these.

Burger me the Veloflex are hard work! Do you mean to get on and off the wheel Andy, or to ride?
