Last Saturday took a bit of a tumble 20mph through water right onto ice. Not the greatest of combinations!
Managed to get up and call wife to the rescue. Although only waited short time, in extreme pain and shaking as shock was starting to kick in as well.
30 minutes or so we are in A+E Larbert x-ray revealed fracture of the superior and inferior pubic rami on the right.
I was released yesterday with half crutches and a good supple of pain meds plus copy of the letter sent to my GP I'll make an appointment for a week away give me time to catch my breath.
My recover is said to be made that much quicker as my fitness (thanks to the bike riding) is high.
I had planned on cutting back my mileage this year but not the way it's worked out...i've fully accepted the situation and know that this too shall pass.
May not have much to contribute to the group for a wee while but I'll pop in from time to time even if it just to read the reviews, stories etc.,

That sounds nasty @robert. Good to know that the bike fitness will help with the recovery. Another perk, though clearly not one you would wish to take advantage of.
Like others, I wish you all the best for a speedy recovery.

Just remember the stealth machine is waiting for you when you get back on the bike @robert! For sure that's one of the motivations chrisD. As yet i'm unsure of what if any damage was done to the T3 it's in the back hall the front wheel detached. After the incident both wheels were rubbing on sks longs and think the rear hanger on derailleur may be bent. At the moment i'm in no fit state to closer examine. Hope is the pain will subside over next few days and I get a slightly more positive feel of some recovery. I've had better days but I've also had worse... Thanks for the best wishes for recovery they are much appreciated.

Sounds very painful. I wish you a speedy recovery.
It's been very tough conditions out there since just after Christmas. If it's not been the thick ice and fog of last weekend it's now the howling gales of this weekend.

inferior pubic rami on the right. Apologies but that little bit made me laugh being a Nottm Forest fan. Hope you get sorted soon.

Update on T3 managed to insert skewer into front wheel, spins right and true as does the rear both Mavics from Decca. This was done at a pace i'm sure most reading this could have assembled a whole bike! The rear derailleur may need an adjustment or replacing as yet unsure, spare one kicking about so no worries. Frame and forks seem to be ok.
Spoke with my GP on the phone yesterday, prescription to take over from those dispensed at hospital. The pain is on the high side of grim goodness know what it would be like without the heavy metal meds. He recons 4 to 6 weeks before I can have a go on the turbo and even then easy does it.
My dear wife has been looking after me she goes back to work tomorrow. It's either that or she will be ordering a patio (concrete base) enough said...VBG!

Great to hear the T3 is in relatively good shape. Shame you are not so! Sounds like you'll have plenty of time to fit the replacement RD Hang on in there @robert!
