Rest easy @fredscuttle
I hold the master switch and keys to the forum. It's my forum if you want to put it another way. We've just made a few changes to it, no hidden agenda, no plans to hand it over to B'Twin. Sure, Rads had a good time over the water last weekend but as far as I know, he hasn't started wearing tricolour underwear yet, and I know for a fact he doesn't know the words to Le Marseilles!!!
We're not selling out to the French!!! Besides, there's nowt to sell. It's a free forum!

Lighten up I reckon . Let's just say, for argument's sake, that the name change was the first step in the buttering up process to sell the site on to Decathlon or, at the very least, to create some sort of affiliation (with prompt email informing Head Office of the name change - rather puzzling to say the least), then you would no longer have the independence you, and, I would guess, just about everyone else here, want to preserve. For all we know there could be behind the scenes manoeuvrings, possibly even involving yourself, along these lines. Obviously Redleader can do what he likes with the site, but it would be interesting to see if some of the good folk here would find this all rather distasteful. As I said though, just for argument's sake. Let's just assume that Big Brother and I have discussed this at length before and are perfectly clear where we stand on the issue ... and let's just assume you read too much into things . ... anyway, back onto riding bikes, I've been out on my bike this evening with my buddy, collected him from work, chased his skinny @rse down the Aust road from Avonmouth clocking 40 - 45 kmh and making me hurt ... then he bought me a nice beer in the local pub to make up for it, he's hatching a plan to get me out to the Tourmalet / Ventoux this summer, rather than next year - I think it's a conspiracy so he can kick my butt on the hills lol ... what have you done that elevates your mood this afternoon ?

Oh, im late to the party but think the right thing has been done well done chaps. My snap decision was to keep it as was but thinking about it we want to be seen to be open to new BTWIN consumers so good decision well made Redleader. One small thikng to consider though, the name, are you sure you've got it right? I was thinking the Peoples Front of BTWIN might be a better option? Its far better than the BTWIN Peoples Front group and its significantly better than the Poplar BTWIN Front!!! :-P . . . . . youtu.be/gb_qHP7VaZE

We all knew this was coming with Decathlon dropping the Btwin name and so once again our forum is going to need a new name. The Triban name lives on but we don't yet know what the high end road bikes will be called.
I'm thinking along the lines of the Decathlon Road Bike Owners Club as the previous name change was to ensure mountain bikes were not a main focus of our forum.
Please feel free to discuss but change is a coming...

We started life as the Triban Owners Club. I still have the full kit to prove it. In the early days we pretty well all had the iconic red T3. I wouldn't mind reverting to this but I guess it would exclude a lot of people with other types of BTwin

As the name change seems to happen a fair bit how about the Prince cycle club formal known as TOC or just Squiggle cycle club π

Decathlon Road Bike Owners Club seems pretty straightforward, most accommodating of future model/lineup changes, etc.

Must admit I'd like to go back to Triban Owners Club, but then I'm biased having just bought one

I'm not sure it really matters, since the number of active members is dwindling.
Could call it "Iron Man sex tape on a bike" for all the difference it will make.
