Wondering how much of this price hiking is big fish baiting? Get the word out it's pricey, likely to be in short supply etc then wait for a few willing to pay through the nose to bite. Can't see too many foreign visitors bothering as they'll wait until it gets somewhere warmer. I would rather cut out the hassle and watch on TV, have a ride or two around the locality in the time saved traveling or go to France for less money, rather than pay silly money to lay in a field and see a 30 second peleton fly by. In my experience of living in Leeds for 6 years now there's a load of tightwads around here & if they can make a quick buck they will! I'll probably see it here on both days & try to get a trip to the South of France around my birthday and time it in order to catch a stage down there. Since everyone else seemingly is I'll offer my garden out too as I'll have probably moved to a house in March as the city centre apartment isn't exactly child friendly! I have a smoker so can make some smoked meats (pulled pork, beef brisket etc)!

May have to switch venue to your new house - we're going to have to do a lot of cycling to work off all this good fodder though !

I live 8 mins drive from a brilliant view point. Garden pitch available as long as you don't mind the dog hanging onto your leg. She's a bit protective. Plasters provided free. I'm going to stay put and cycle down. I'll stake a claim mate if poss' - will happily pay in beer / wine and BBQ fodder on me, I'll do the washing up as well lol . Looking at your BBQ and the wine by the side if it. I'll put the dog in kennels overnight. You won't need plasters for the dog bite. Just bring extra wine.. What's washing up ?

Does anyone know how you get tickets to the team presentation on Thursday 3rd July in Leeds Arena? I would really like to go as it will be a good way to kick off the festivities. I can imagine that tickets will be hard to come by.

The Yorkshireman speaking French was pretty cringeworthy! I don't think we'll be seeing Wiggins next year with that route, one for the climbers by the looks of it.

That's a really nice Skottel braai!
We've just booked our ferries for our annual French getaway, but due to school hols we depart on the day the TDF finishes.

After the Yorkshire stages I'm really looking forward to stage 5. Lots of pave including Arenberg. We've a route that should toss up the best overall rider despite the 54km TT.

I can imagine that tickets will be hard to come by. Keep an eye on here: www.firstdirectarena.com/Also just in case I'd also have a look at local cycle shops in the West Yorkshire area - Chevin Cycles are a big one, Woodrup Cycles etc & if you also look at the likes of: www.crashrecords.co.ukwww.jumborecords.co.ukAs both always have local gig/event tickets for all the venues in Leeds (they always get Leeds fest tickets too, if you're that way inclined you can get tickets within minutes on their site/in store compared to the bigger online ticket outlets and they're usually cheaper with booking fees too). Also Leeds Visitor Centre generally has the same deal with tickets (including Leeds Fest), but is actually the official tourist info (based in the train station). They don't have a proper website, but they do have a Facebook & twitter: twitter.com/LeedsVCwww.facebook.com/LeedsVisitorCentrewww.visitleeds.co.uk/essientials/tourist-information-centres.aspx#HTH
