What is there to dislike about a Triban 3?
For the money we've paid we shouldn't be complaining about anything.
Nevertheless, we all NEED to have a little moan about something!
My dislikes;
The pedals and toe clips: Nothing worse than shoving off from a stop then patting the pedal like an eejit trying to get the pedal clip side up so you can get your feet on the pedals and toes in the clips.
The actual Triban 3 badge. I don't mean the stylish text graphics emblazoned on the cross bar but the graphic on the head tube. Basically the letter T suitably adorned to give the image of someone riding a bike. Maybe just me but I think it looks a bit naff.
That's all from me. I can't think of anything else. Had no issues with the wheels as yet so no hub gripes. We'll see how they fare with a few miles under their belt.

Can't understand everyone's disdain for the pedals , all very simple to me

The pedals were a git for a beginner like me, but I got used to them after a good, long ride.

My triban dumping the chain on the road today whilst doing a 50 mile sportive in the cold and wet, not impressed!

With the sportive, the road, weather, chain or the whole bike?

My triban dumping the chain on the road today whilst doing a 50 mile sportive in the cold and wet, not impressed! What was the cause of the chain dump bilsea 159? Haven't heard of this happening for a long time. I presume it's a relatively rare phenomenon. Shame it spoiled your ride.

The chain got sucked up when doing a messy gear change at speed and snapped at the missing link. Luckily I was about a mile away from the feed station where the mechanic removed a few links and rejoined the chain with a missing link so I was able to continue the ride and managed 52 miles and losing about forty minutes due to the incident. I have maintained the chain very well so put it down to one of those things. I have ordered a new Shimano Sora Cassette and KMC chain so hope to get back on the bike soon. My mood yesterday was tempered by Bad weather and the extreme cold but I still love the bike.

Don't blame you, think I'd be a bit fed up; keep us posted on the upgrades please.

don't mind the pedals and toe straps at all - used to them but hate the issues setting off around a bend, trying hard not to kick the front wheel! Also the issues with mudguards & tyres. I have managed to squeeze mudguards on with 25mm tyres but it is a close call!

Must admit never used the pedals. I'm so used to SPDs that it didn't even do round the block until SPDs had been fitted.

The only thing did not like are the wheels. Only since i got new ones did i notice a difference. And the Tyre's. Had a few close call on roundabouts not enough grip. But don't get me wrong it a great bike and love it. ;D

Hmmm. I've changed to SPD's and although they took some getting used to I don't regret it. I also junked the tyres and bought Schwalbe Marathon because I really really hate punctures. The downside is the Schwalbes are too big to fit mudguards around. And I've bought some excellent lights off eBay. I've cycled all winter. Altura Nightvision jacket and tights for short trips are first class.. Merino wool base layer is brilliant from Go Outdoors. Off out at 09.00hrs in the morning come hell or high water.A great bike and after a 1,000 miles still a lot of fun.

I don't like the fact it says Carbon Forks on the forks. Does that make sense? Also agree about the naff badge on the front. Zeb
