For the price it was exceptional and I think it was used as a nice breaker into the uk market Look at the gmc Denali, many call it a great bike for the price but I'd rather sleep on the motorway than ride one, the 3was or is the first true bargain ride of the modern day

It's a 300 quid bike, hydro formed alu is a tad more expensive but can produce near seamless results, see trek, pinarello, giant for good examples and the look at the price you pay for it too Everything comes down to cost, welding an industrial joint takes less time and skill hence is relatively cheap and the buyer benefits accordingly Hydroforming is a process of shaping the tubes using hydraulic pressure to form curves etc. they're welded together in exactly the same way. After welding the fillet can be smoothed off, this saves a tiny amount of weight and improves the appearance without affecting the strength but adds greatly to the cost as you say it's a £300 bike I was told when i bought mine that the tubes for the T3 were 'double butted' (this could have been the T5 though ). Anyone know if this is true?

One very minor niggles from me regarding the gear cable routing. I much prefer cables that run along the top tube then down the seat stay for the rear derailleur and down the seat tube for the front derailleur. Cables are out of the way and don't get covered in cr*p.

You can't grumble really. I'll admit it, if it wasn't for the affordable price of the T3 I would still be sitting on my backside doing nothing in my spare time.
Compare it with the £300 Yellow Carerra that Halfords flog and it is night and day!
I'm riding mines stock just now and if I need to get upgrades in the future then so be it. I'm no Bradley Wiggins or will I ever be but just wanted a good bike for my money and I think the red T3 fits that bill.

I am curious to know why the frame welds have to look so industrial. More upmarket frames have much cleaner joints. Does anyone know how this is achieved? Yes......by putting your hand deeper into your pocket and buying a more expensive, better finished frame..like everything in life, you get what you pay for

I like a good weld, why pretend it doesn't exist - style over function with some of these views perhaps? Not pointing any fingers here, but I note that sometimes those most concerned with the aesthetics aren't showing their Strava !

Copy the ride code link and paste it in a post; not compulsory, just long running TOC banter.

No I'm all for it being a declared and certified strava addict. Where's the ride code? Does that mean u can just post individual rides?
I'm taking the stealth for its maiden voyage tomorrow. My t3 is sulking as I've stole its RS30's

We need a scheme so that I know who are following me now on strava from TOC rather than Theives after the location of my bat bike
