I know that we're spread far and wide, but as some of you might know Rads and myself are trying to get together once a month if poss for a ride. Well, we're planning the next one probably Sunday 23/6 or 30/6 around the oxford area,as this is roughly in the middle for most of us(I know some are just to far to make it feasible for oxford but maybe you could organize one for your area). The ride we did last time was 'quite' flat with only a few slight hills, a nice easy pace. It would good to see a few others out for ride as well. Let us know if you want more details.

Oxford is a bit far from here, but Id love to be part of one, maybe a southwest one for the bumpkin guys down this way? Trouble is Martin and Trotter who are relatively near me are way way quicker and fitter than me:(
If anyone is on holiday with a bike down this way I'll happily meet up for a ride out.

I think me and john from bude was going to cycle half way and meet sometime.

I'll go south for a ride, just need to give me a little notice to shuffle things around and a good easy to get to parking / rendezvous / start point.
An early start and a drive of an hour and a half / two hours is no big deal, our start was 9.30am last time with a 2hr 15min ride.
To get there was a lovely cross country A road drive for me over the Cotswolds on a perfect sunny Sunday; we parked by a lake, trundled over the Thames just nearby as a roll out start, we then did rolling open land and lanes with dappled sun, it was warm and slightly breezy, we saw Canada Geese next to lakes, other cyclists, yellow fields, nice homes and gardens, some bridges and brooks, spent a lot of time chatting, did some occasional map reading, just a little whizzing and some puffing up hills (for me mainly) - halcyon.
It was scenic and sociable fun ride, BA had the flap jacks for sharing at the end, next time we'll all need to remember to bring something along for that bit - suggest only thing extra needed to that is a flask of tea or a stove to cook one and a spare 15 - 30 mins for a quick chat and then home with time to hook up with the family! I'll likely chuck in a camping chair and a mat for changing shoes on next time.
Don't be worried about pace, we'll just vary it to suit and won't just wait for the rear gunner to catch and then crash on full tilt as soon as someone catches up, as we all know how devastating that can be when you're tired. The aim is to see good sites and new territory in a sociable environment.

If you can make the start point at a train station (one of the Oxford ones maybe) I'd be interested, other commitments not withstanding. Bournemouth trains go that way. My only issue is BA keeping a lid on things, I've given given him more kudos on Strava than anyone else and I'm in Div 3 while BA's in Championship. Sorry BA, if you were Prem Lge we'd be watching you later this month on Eurosport, lols ;-)
