Not technically 'Triban Talk' I know. When I was in Decathlon buying the T7 I couldn't resist asking them to get the FC3 off the rack so I could have a little whip round the store on it. It is a beautiful bike but I actually found it a little bit scary to ride - it doesn't feel like there is anything substantial underneath you. I know all carbon frames are stronger than commonly believed but I was also able to notice flex when I squeezed the seat tube. Maybe one day.. . Attachment Deleted

Personally, I think some of the Ribble offerings offer better value at this price point though, with good reviews too.

Ah go and eat your cap psyclepath! I love the FC3 and lots of good things have been said about it. Face it the T7 specs is going for £850 in the Trek or Specialise brands. I don't know what Ribble is offering but I do know they are not the Mecca!!!!
It's not just the money but the customer service too. Decathlon has that loads and brick and mortar too. Not Ribble.

Hear what you're saying whitey but all the stuff I've bought from Ribble, their customer service has been brilliant, and their bikes are good value too and rather nice to boot. Don't get blinkered by brand loyalty.

Is the FC3 full carbon? Looks like very good value for money if it is. I was under the impression full carbon bikes go for alot more? I'd love to take one out for a weekend to feel the difference. Oh what the heck, if it's for the weekend(and it's not my money I'd like an S-Works

Personally, I think some of the Ribble offerings offer better value at this price point though, with good reviews too. I was looking at Ribble earlier and considering what I would do when the time eventually comes to upgrade to a new bike. By taking a look on Road Bike Review forums you can find the factories where Ribble (and incidentally some other manufacturers) get their frames from and people posting reviews of them when they've bought the frames direct (there's about 6 or 7 topics all around 500 pages long). Another one is that of the Xpace factory where Planet X get their frames from. Most of the factories have an agreement with the companies where they are allowed to reuse the designs for other companies in return for a cheap deal in bulk (Planet X even admit to this on their website). Looking at the sites you can get frames, forks, wheelsets and finishing kits all except the groupset pretty much for around £500-700. From reviews by other buyers they're quality frames and have all the stiffness you'd want from them. I know one or two friends who have ordered the carbon wheelsets from China (from the reputable factories) and have used them for some racing & rave on about them.

I could be wrong, but when I have ever looked at Ribble (which are very good) you get Sora for the £900-£1000 mark on a Carbon frame. So, I think that the B'twin FC3 does look good value with Tiagra. I think that Ribble only has one location, so I suppose Decathlon will win there as they are more accessible.
I like look of the FC range, but the geometry looks a bit aggressive for me. But if I did ever upgrade to the carbon call, would I still be allowed on this forum as it is not a Triban!

It was a toss up between the FC3 and 7 for me too. I also wasn't sure about the 7s top tube as in decathlons pictures it looked to be made out of scaffolding. Seeing it in the flesh though i think it looks cool and couldn't justify the £250 mark up for the FC3. Zoltan has heard all of this before, lol.
Very happy with my choice. 'Leon' is a badass.

And I do love Cube bikes, particularly the Cube Peloton model.
