thats decathlons problem IMO, their pics are crap, you want a full zoom 360 rotatable because btwins DO look better in the flesh it was a toss up btwin the fc3 and the seven and i went seven b/c it wasnt full carbon, not through fear of the toray more fear of the wee mans insistence that hotwheels be driven and crashed into any given surface, bikes included when hes not being monitored properly, usually my fault anyway the seven is lighter - lol, same gruppo and wheels and full carbon aint a good idea in the rainy winters of scotland with its salt laden roads etc i think from 3a right thru to the high end facet 9 esr btwin aint letting you down - deda frames btw, that is a bonus zoltansocrates - deda frames? You saying they build the b'twin frames? yes, the italian ones are manufactered by deda

It was a toss up between the FC3 and 7 for me too. I also wasn't sure about the 7s top tube as in decathlons pictures it looked to be made out of scaffolding. Seeing it in the flesh though i think it looks cool and couldn't justify the £250 mark up for the FC3. Zoltan has heard all of this before, lol. Very happy with my choice. 'Leon' is a badass. Well Leon sounds really like a gangster name, that's what your T7 is named? Yeah. Gerard Depardieu didn't have the same ring to it. My T7 is a gangster.

Brought a smile to my face seeing the "Made In Italy" sticker on the back of the seat tube on my T7a. There are only a couple of carbon frame manufacturers in the far east. As i understand it the best are in Taiwan and China. If the frame has come from Vietnam, then its not gonna be that good. At least thats what a guy in a shop told me. Dolan use a combination of custom designed frames and off-the-peg jobbies.

I could be wrong, but when I have ever looked at Ribble (which are very good) you get Sora for the £900-£1000 mark on a Carbon frame. So, I think that the B'twin FC3 does look good value with Tiagra. I think that Ribble only has one location, so I suppose Decathlon will win there as they are more accessible. I like look of the FC range, but the geometry looks a bit aggressive for me. But if I did ever upgrade to the carbon call, would I still be allowed on this forum as it is not a Triban! www.ribblecycles.co.uk/sed/road-track-bike/ribble-evo-pro-carbon-shimano-equipped?part=SE13RIBEVOPRONSHIM&sub=conf_SERC£840, with Tiagra 10 speed I wonder how long before Carbon bikes are just completely ubiquitous? Remember aluminium used to be pretty "special" in the early 90s. Now even the £75 supermarket bikes are aluminium framed (though proably not that good!)

Looked at both 7 and FC3 today as my planned investment for next summer (or earlier if I can persuade mrs sev112 as its cycle to work scheme time at our place at the moment)
Was surprised at the difference in frame shape with the FC3 being much more race shaped . Prob the 7 for me then.
Both are lovely - couldn't take them out in the rain though

I'm thinking of doing the same. Investment for next summer. I was thinking of the FC3 but I'm curious now. How noticeable is the frame difference? I assume one is more recreational then the other? As to someone who's only had the T3 for road bikes, how different would the FC3 be? Different in a uncomfortable way for non-racing cyclist?
