hi people. Since the big discussion on Triban jerseys and the fun we're having on that It did bring something up which i noticed. Branding. Alot of people didnt like the fact of branding and wanted to keep this ToC only. ...Well, this got me thinking and decided to create us a logo I hope you like and if you dont mind, could i have feedback on what you lot think. I've tried keeping it to the Red white and black scheme and tried to highlight and include the T, O and C within the logo. Hope you enjoy and lemme know what you think?... FINAL VERDICTS WILL BE OFF RED AND RAD...If Approved, I will send copies to anyone that asks for it Badge:Small Version:Original Size:

I really like the Way you've created the rider and bike from letters but it does unfortunately read OTC sorry . What about drop handle bars for the T , large cog for the O. And half a wheel for the C. I dunno just a thought . How do I get pics up o here I'm a techno idiot!

Interesting but not hitting the spot for me; does read as OTC - looks like it should be on a funky French sport fuel drink or similar.
You're into tricky territory with logo design, KISS principle usually applies but if you're enjoying yourself why not keep trying. Also need to test it in context on a shirt. Wonder if you need to be so literal with the long version of the name as TOC strikes me as having most potential.
If I was tutoring on this type of exercise (thinking of the shirts as well here), I would suggest that we're still in the research phase, defining the issues and experimenting with the possibilities, there's a way to go yet and sometimes you need to stand back, give it some time and eventually head towards reining it all in.
More often than not it'll go back to something simple, you'll find that the term 'less is more' is mentioned so often because it is so often true.

Further thoughts: Can you find out the font type of the capitalised BTWIN logo please Arny? I am busy today but if I had time I would work on probably capital letters of TOC set large on shirt material in white on various shirt colours. In parallel I'd look at small shoulder tags or badges / colour patches - white on red, black on red and vice versa, think how they might be applied to shirts. Combine that with smaller direct writing onto the shirts as you started out. Keep the palette simple, get the proportions and message right. Simple!!!

Hi rad, Now ive tried finding this myself for the last month and ive had no luck what so ever :/ i wish there was some way to find out how so easily. With the badge design, ill have a look at other possible designs on the toc writing. And sadly i do agree with you about the biker as i saw the same but tried to raise the to moe to highlight it but no good :/ Do you like the idea point of it being converted into a red bike? all id do is modify the man and make it look like a red triban. I will show a couple of designs (1of a bike and 1 of the toc logo) and again feedback on what you guys think. Cool?

I think the BTWIN is probably just a slanted / italic version on a simple font with a gap out the T; if you can't get it, it will be fairly easy to Photoshop from similar, simply slant the text either by Italics or the Transform command and then turn it rasterized and erase the slot - I'll have a go with the TOC letters later on.

It's not quite right but Helvetica Neue - Black Extended Oblique will produce pretty much the same result with a few tweaks. You need to stretch the font a little and then decrease the tracking between the T and the W. The T is custom as this is to represent the apostrophe. This will recreate a pretty much identical logo.
For the typography on the shirt i'd just go with Helvetica Neue - Black Extended Oblique without any adjustment.
If i get any free time over the weekend i'll have a quick go at putting some concepts together and try and find the exact typeface used.
