There were no tests to take into account wafty frames and flexy chainsets so it is not valid research. Power transfer is the unseen advantage, a bloke in the pub told me

Ah right, yep, think I met him, comes on here sometimes - convincing fellow. Tongue in cheek the above of course, but worth reminding ourselves of this. Even I found myself quibbling mentally over 25 grams difference when considering new saddles recently, had to have a word with myself, remembering the discomfort when averaging over 21mph around Ride London, that was likely way more power / time sapping than 0.025% of my overall bike and body mass.

Everyone likes nice kit Dave . Yes they do but the question didn't ask if I liked nice kit. I just like buying "Flashy" stuff, admit it....... might infer that the individual wants to show off flashy definition: Ostentatiously attractive or impressive ; Ostentatiously - In a pretentious or showy way designed to impress Question) ... I just like buying flashy stuff, I admit it. ans) I don't. Costs too much to like buying it because it is flashy. I do like buying quality stuff that proves to be reliable, does the job well and is cost effective.

When threads include quotes from the dictionary, you know it's a wrong 'un .

Sorry. None at all apply. Following your reply I was merely clarifying why I posted the above.

I may have to do more of these satirical confessional threads over Christmas for a laugh, good for fighting off the Bah Humbug feeling, which I am partial to myself once stuffed with turkey. May move them into members only area. Now ... left pondering if my red cable caps are 'flashy' or 'stylish', may have to do a thread on bike bling items, 'hot or not' stylie.
