If only the Xs in my 2XL "aero sized frame" were vertical rather than horizontal

I'd be skipping on Di2 myself. Replacement parts can be wild expensive if you ever have an off. Under 7kg might be a bit of an ask. You will be relying on an online purchase to manage di2 and that weight. This is a valid point, the shifters and derailleurs are not cheap, but then you'll be too caught up in keeping it safe that you'll pay extra special attention to not stacking it... Going from Sora to 6800 Di2 is amazingly different. I was on my T3 for a few weeks whilst the Canyon was laid up, and whilst I found it great up hills on the comp triple, I had neither the confidence in the shifting (recently tuned) or the gears to go into when I'd climbed. Ger is pretty much on the money in terms of sub 7kg also. 7.15kg for a AL SLX, but there's a few easy wins you can make in terms of weight saving if you fancy them.

These Canyons are nice. The Endurance CF 7.0 seems to surpass the Mach 720 in all areas, Full 105, better wheels and tyres and over a kilo lighter. I bloody hate choice!

Now that one looks like it ticks a lot of the boxes - and it's in (glowing lava) red if you want it! You can swap out the compact for a semi or standard chainset.

Nah, when you've got that Alloy Canyon at 500 smacks less, looking uber slick, then why would you?

Lovely bikes! As erictherat said, I've got one of the bikes in that range and they're great: very light, comfortable, handle beautifully, and extremely well-specced for the money. Di2 is quite heavy, so as others have said, getting under 7kg with the electronic groupsets tends to bump up the cost.

Nah, when you've got that Alloy Canyon at 500 smacks less, looking uber slick, then why would you? Because it doesn't tick the boxes requested in the OP? The Rose does depending on the rounding and/or size.

Not knocking it, just it's difficult to beat the VFM of that Canyon in terms of spec, weight and style.

Not knocking it, just it's difficult to beat the VFM of that Canyon in terms of spec, weight and style. No doubt at all. But much as I'd not suggest it wanting to try out road cycling as it doesn't really tick the boxes, it doesn't tick these boxes either. Do Canyon have a Di2 model? Is it that much more?

Running through their bike selector system; the later version of the older one I put up a while back, price is up from a couple of years back www.canyon.com/en-gb/road/ultimate/ultimate-cf-sl-9-0-di2.htmlEdit: Actually, it's a higher model than the other one - appears that that shaving off that last 200 - 250 grams and having electrics is a pretty costly game plan.
