I saw the video. I can't imagine what it must be like driving a car at 120mph+ looking in the mirror and seeing a bloke on a bike right on your chuff!

Bit of a cheat really, we've all felt a slight tow when a HGV goes past or the wind is behind us.

Bit of a cheat really, we've all felt a slight tow when a HGV goes past or the wind is behind us. I think 'cheat' is a bit harsh, it's obviously different to riding unassisted but certainly isn't easy and you've got to admire his bottle to reach that speed wearing cycling kit.

Interesting video, thanks. Before watching, I'd never thought about the type of brake as a factor in trying to achieve the fastest time on a descent (particularly in the dry.) I figured most riders who seek out disc braked bikes are doing so because they ride in crappy conditions, for instance commuting through a UK winter. I've never tried disc brakes, but imagine they give you more confidence in your stopping ability, which in turn might mean you feel the need to brake less, i.e. because you know the stopping ability is there if you need it, whereas you might not be so sure if you have rim brakes.

I have never tried them, so I don't feel the need for them, as I can stop effieciently. if I try them I may want them though.
