A small digression from ornithology although it could become a meal for some bird, I spotted what I thought was a dead twig of wood on my parsley. When I went to pick it up I discovered it was actually a well camouflaged moth.

I was out in the garage fettling the touring bike giving it a good clean and treating the metal bits a coating of ACF50. Er indoors rushed out from ... erm.. indoors.... all excited saying there was a strange bird in the garden. I managed to catch a few shots of it before it had its fill. Is that a Great Spotted Woodpecker?
