We get lots of Goldfinches in the garden & they like sunflower hearts they don't touch the niger seed. I hope that's spelt right

A Great spotted woodpecker was munching on the peanut feeder in the garden this morning. Glad he was on there and not trying to bust his way into the bird box, in which we have Great Tits nesting, like he was last week! We initially though he was trying to make the entrance to the box bigger so he could take over the nest box but a quick Google enlighten us - he was doing it to try to get at the chicks to kill and eat them (http://www.bto.org/about-birds/nnbw/nesting-birds/great-spotted-woodpecker). I've fixed put a piece of shinny metal over the hole Woody made. Thankfully he's not bothered with it since and the nesting birds don't seam bothered by their blinged-up nest box. Very stunning to look at and I'll try to get a picture over the weekend.

I think this one belongs on here. Love it. Don't shoot them. There was a programme on last night and a bloke befriended some bears and the mum actually left her young uns with him for a few minutes due to the build up of trust.
I'd still leg it though if one appeared..!!

Spotted this fella while out ridding last week in North Wales, just near Higher Kinnerton This is the second mole I've seen on the side of the road. This chap, assuming it was a male, was quite big. Both moles were safely coaxed off the road using whatever vegetation was close to hand.
