Yes, a good read. It gives an insight into the 'Dark side of cycling' when it was more commonly accepted to dope. It gave me a lot more respect for david even if he did cheat.
A book I thoroughly recommend is Mid-life cyclists (available cheaply if you have a Kindle). This book is a light hearted account of two guys getting into cycling and the sometimes commical events that happen en route. I think everyone can relate to some part of this book.
OR, if you like cycling history it's hard to look past - Merckk Half man half bike. When cycling is mentioned my father always talks of Merckk, after reading this I can see why.It can be a hard read at times due to the lists of cyclists names hardly any of which I had previoulsy heard of, but the stories of how this man dominated the peloton makes it worth while.

I dislike the man so never read this one but it always seems to come highly recommended. Tyler Hamilton's Secret Race is still the best cycling book I've read to date.

I really enjoyed the David Miller book. In my top 2 along with the first Cavendish book - boy racer. Cavs second book at speed not bad either. Tyler Hamilton I thought was decent but got bored in places at wiggins book. Froome book was okay, especially the beginning quarter about his life in Africa which I found excellent.

It's easy to get bored of (auto)biographies.

Gironimo by Tim Moore A chuckel on nearly every page so far which annoys the Wife when she's trying to reading her book

Ned Boultings books are decent. His most recent one "101'Damnations" is his observations of broadcasting from this years TDF. It's very entertaining, funny in parts, somber in the right areas and provides a good insight to the demands on broadcasters covering the big events like this.

I found this on Amazon by accident. Nice insight into touring in France from the view of the long suffering wife tagging along behind. Particularly interesting to those with an interest in history. The author is a travel writer rather than a cyclist. More info on Amazon

Nipped out on lunch break and picked up Tim Moore's Gironimo. Keeping it topical with the Giro being on.
I want to get Lanterne Rouge but it's not out on paperback for a few more weeks.

WIDE-EYED AND LEGLESS inside the Tour de France by Jeff Conner.
It's been kicking around the house for a while, only just started reading and so far enjoying it.

Enjoyed Gironimo but started to lose interest in the final third. The author seemed to overay the humour card. Still a decent read.
Lantern Rouge next.
