She finally arrived, half an hour later: So... better take her out really: And by God she is amazing, so fast, I had no idea how much power I was losing into the T3, I smashed a selection of pbs today without trying when taking out some newbies for the uni club freshers ride: www.strava.com/activities/199606005I couldn't be happier.

... I'll be watching this for scientific accuracy, me thinks at the mo' the kids have had Christmas early and placebo has kicked in ... prove me wrong, go spin the velodrome quicker (without drafting ) !

She's going to the velo on Tuesday. will be difficult to do a fair test really as I probably don't know how fast I went on the velodrome flat out on my own before as it never interested me.
Prob better will be to try and get as fast a lap as possible (with all the drafting I can, see if I can beat 39s) - but that will depend as much on the lead out as anything else.

Good luck with your new bike, looks great. What are the specs? Just checked out your Strava a bit. Is the velodrome really that much faster than the road? Would love to see what times I could do either on the track or with a TT bike and proper equipment on the road.

It's prob the jump to 105 then - you've had that a while? Guess time will tell. Certainly not BS, but could be placebo.

Velodrome... beautifully smooth tarmac and usually others to draft, so yeah it's quicker. But not much.

Nope, 'old' Tiagra, a few grams heavier but only a few - IMHO, as 'coach Rad', attitude and believing in yourself and the system that you're rolling on are massive issues, conquer the mindset and get all the other ducks in line and you'll fly, a few grams won't stop you!

Given the efficacy of placebos (even in medical world) I'm happy to take one.

If it gets you rolling then I'm not knocking it.

There is the small question of money for a TT bike, don't know abybody I could borrow one from. Could always try aerobars. As for velodromes might look into it for this winter as I probably won't have any chance to ride on the road again this winter when I return to the Alps
