RobS and Ian TT with their local clubs on standard kit, I ride at the velodrome on a hired bike, others on here just get along and have a go; I'm not going to get all pushy, as just turning up is the next step, if you want to blitz them all at the local club first outing, then that's a different game .

I will definitely look into some more serious stuff for next year, not sure at the moment what location I will be in in France for the summer but will give some motivation for the turbo over the winter. Not sure that the 'club 10' or equivalent TT exists over here though I am sure there must be some organised stuff. Need to do some research .

I can vouch for ventures into cycling circles! On the whole it's going to be positive, you'll meet characters who're a bit gruff and those who consider themselves custodians of the / their local regime, as you do in many circles of life ... but as yet, I've not met one character in cycling club circles I didn't like on balance of it all. There'll be like minded folk who appreciate where you're at and where you might head towards - they'll help push it. ...and william39 - you're getting quick now, so a little friendly competition is well in order .

Can vouch for that after my first club type ride last Sunday. I knew nobody there but was made to feel very welcome. Chatted to a few of the guys, not all my cup of tea (one was a little 'been there done that', then got spat out the back on the first hill ) but I really enjoyed it and depending on family plans I'll roll up again tomorrow morning.

BTW them seat stays are thin looking! btw nice bike Rose are a lot like Canyon, order direct German company. I'd only ever seen 2 in the flesh, one at a sportive, one at velodrome, but great speed and reviews. Why this excellent value, looks and the rarity. Agree with thin seatstays, makes the ride less harsh I guess.

Brought a Rose myself after extensive research, very glad I did. Still love my T3 though, use it everyday to work and back. Still haven't seen another Rose around Staffordshire/Cheshire yet.

I went for the Xeon RS with Shimano 105, but they put on Ultegra shifters as they were struggling for the 105s. I set a slew of Pbs on Strava at first but have still got a few that I set on my T3 that I can't get near on my Rose.

I've had a good look at the spec of this bike, it's a pretty decent all round and balanced affair - the bikes available to us punters now at the costs they are achieving, are outstanding vfm. I think as your ownership goes on, if you feel the need to change saddles for fit purposes, then this bike could do with a white saddle and bar tape, plus perhaps a white cable set - not much else to tweak.

Rad... you're seeing why I liked the appeal - the German's do seem to put a well balanced bike together. I really don't like the white idea (looks dirty so quickly) ... but I actually agree with you Radchenister... I'll see how I get on with this saddle for a while (part of the great saddle experiment - though I am happy with the T3's spoon, maybe it could be better?) and then maybe in spring think about some colour. I was thinking red though (note with the internal cables and 105, red housing would not be much at all!).

... I'll be watching this for scientific accuracy, me thinks at the mo' the kids have had Christmas early and placebo has kicked in ... prove me wrong, go spin the velodrome quicker (without drafting ) ! As I said earlier, not possible to do a truely fair test, but: www.strava.com/activities/201612741/segments/4749955265I didn't have a real lead out here, I jumped out of a group on the start line and sprinted as hard as I could for a 37s lap (459m apparently), you can actually see on the analysis that I faded a bit. 2s (5%) faster than my previous best, I had a go last week and only managed 40s laps. I've got a bit of a cold, but to be honest, for a sprint lap, I doubt it had much effect. So I stand by I'm actually faster with it, how much is it we couldn't ever know.

Time for scientists and statisticians to weep - you're a weather forecaster right ?
