Chapeau to everyone, I've been parked in front of the telly watching. Crowds much appreciated by the commentators on French tv. I will have to get the turbo trainer out of hibernation as the afternoons are the only time I am free so won't get out much for the next three weeks!

Looking out of the window and at the radar, this is not a good day.

Going to struggle. I won't be able to get out until 9pm and my front light is missing. Might just be a half hour spin round the block.

Still busy so I went out late into a nice evening, put lights on, intending to look at sunsets in the vale along the lower escarpment to Dursley and then right up onto the top for the final sunset from on high ... but that idea only lasted 15 minutes, as it went biblical on me in the hills. It's not so good being in the twisty and undulating in wet / dark / dusky conditions, so only a short one. Bike washed off and chain in soaking, best clothing now soaking in detergent as filthy - annoying level of effort for a short ride ... what idiot thought this cycle every day of the TdF idea up? app.strava.com/activities/163426366

Not looking good for me either - I've been putting off rebuilding my rear wheel after seeing the bloke in the bike shop in Dursley spiral shearing 5 spokes, when rebuilding a fairly new wheel ... but couldn't put off servicing a sticking free hub today as it was threatening to bend the rear mech off in use; in doing so, I just found a wobbly spoke, that on further investigation, has proven to have sheared off, so I am going to dismantle the entire wheel to find out if I need to order any more spokes before putting an order in as Aksium spokes aren't off the shelf items. Ah well - looks like my TdF challenge has gone the way of that Kenyan blokes.
