So a few figures etc from the challenge:
Number of days: 23 Number of rest days: 1 Number of rides: 26 Total distance: 893km (555miles) Total climbing: 4,147m (13,605 ft) Total time: 34h 2m 29s Average speed: 26.23 kph (16.30 mph)
Who'd have thought I could barely ride 5km a year ago when I bought the T3?

Oh... what a thought. I managed 100km more than Mr Froome did.

My quick stats were:
Number of days: 23 Number of rest days: 0 Number of rides: 19 (4 split over night) Total distance 377.9 miles (but it felt like much more)
Not overly impressive for a seasoned cyclist, but a bit of an achievement for a fat lad!

Aim for every other day and you won't be claiming those issues much longer. We'll conjure something up for the Vuelta - perhaps based on doing hills on mountain stage days and non compulsory bonus ones / catch ups inbetween so it's less diary onerous, plus a mini TT (it won't be comparable, just lay down a circa 45min to 1hr for fun and fitness)? Back on track at the track for me tonight.

Unfortunately I'm away for 2 of the 3 weeks, so no option for me... but surely being the Vuelta, it should be a climbing per day target.

That should be interesting. I've got a 35 mile round trip on the flat just to get to the hills.

Dave, don't forget about the disabled ramp to get up on to the prom.

A climbing target could be difficult. It might well mean hill repeats every day which could get tedious very quickly. I can usually only fit in 1500ft on a 30 mile loop. Not overly substantial.
Maybe an overall target instead of daily?
