Managed to take 1:20 off my best time for Whitedown Lane on the weekend. Was riding with a group which helped me pace it a lot better. Started at the back of the group and slowly overtook a few people but generally taking it a lot easier on the first part. Then at the turn where it ramps up to over 21% was able to just keep it going a good pace up to the top, again overtaking a few people along the way.

Gonna have to revisit some of the climbs in the Lake district pretty soon with my GPS. I think I've got Honister, Whinlatter, Kirkstone, Hartside and Newlands Hause to do.

In the process of organising a meetup with a friend who lives in Bath. On the cards for #1 Cheddar #2 Weston Hill #108 Shaft Road #109 Vale Street
maybe even #101, #102, #103 as well if we drive between them.
btw I've again seen Mr VV say 'soon' with regards to putting the second 100 on VV. So you might as well do them while you can too.
and I might even re-do #121 Dragon Hill Road on the drive to/from Bath now that I know the proper route. I think I went up it 2 times last time but possibly still won't be the 'official' route when they get done.

I've been knocking off a few in the second book so it was good to spot that he is on with it. I am mainly concentrating on the first book though. 1 and 2 are easy enough, Kiwi.

Which ones are you left missing now, @davefy7? I've only done 26 so far, mate. Still a long way to go. I'd be a lot further on if the GPS element was taken out of the equation. Ranked 107 out of 1897

Cheddar is fine, Weston Hill is bit of a pig - ask Radchenister - I took him up it once when his rear derailleur was playing up and couldn't get bottom two gears!

about a month ago i cycled down to matlock (60k away) to do 34 rowsley bar on the way and then 31 bank road and 32 riber bank in Matlock. enjoyed the first 2, then found riber bank totally closed for roadworks.
thought id head down there to grab riber bank, but sensibly checked the roadworks on the internet to avoid a 100k+ ride with no new climbs, to find it will be closed till the end of September!
mmm rethink of plan

I went up Riber a few weeks ago and although the road was closed it was possible to ride round the roadworks on the pavement. www.strava.com/activities/175019197I was keen to have another go as the last time I really struggled on 39/26 so have put a triple on, I still really struggled, but did improve my time

I did Swain's Lane (#27) for the second time this evening, first was about 3 months ago. 38s improvement! The bike and my legs both felt great. My lungs didn't. StravaI took the GoPro, the raw footage looks a million times better than it does on youtube. Still have to figure out proper editing & colouring techniques, codec selection etc. If you want to hear 3 minutes of heavy breathing:

Nice video. HUD looks cool, I like seeing all the stats as you're riding.
